http://allvictories.blogspot.com/2012/06/having-written.html
What works, what inspires in parenting and life. Wednesday, June 6, 2012. A week ago, I was planning a blog post in my head as I moved through the afternoon routine with the kids. And then I left B.A. alone in the living room with a full pitcher of milk and my laptop. So thank you to the wonderful L.L. who has loaned me her laptop for a bit. It's a rare friend indeed who will commiserate over a carelessly destroyed computer and then say, "Hey, would you like to borrow mine? I recently heard a podcast whe...

Recipes at a Glance. Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Rosh HaShanah Test Kitchen: iChallah - Apple through and through. So, I think this might be my new favorite, master recipe for Rosh Hashanah. In contrast to Stuffed Apple, this challah has apple mixed right into the dough. Use any type of challah you like (though I would recommend white over whole wheat flour). I used my Half Batch. Just before braiding mix together. 1 apple, peeled, and diced into small pieces (about 1/4 inch) - I used Fuji. Rosh HaShana...

Recipes at a Glance. Friday, June 29, 2012. I love garden season. Our basil has been going a bit crazy lately, so the thing to do is. of course. make homemade pesto. And when one has fresh pesto, the thing to do is. of course. make pesto challah! For this challah, you can use your own fresh pesto or store-purchased pesto. When I make pesto at home, I leave out the cheese to make it parve. 2 1/4 tsp active dry or instant yeast (1 packet). 1 egg plus 1 more for egg wash. 3 tbsp olive oil. I'm always blow a...

Recipes at a Glance. Monday, September 19, 2011. Rosh HaShanah Test Kitchen: Stuffed Apple Challah. We've made Apple Cinnamon Challah. Before, but the method has never been completely finalized. This past Shabbat, I experimented with two different methods for apples-in-challah. This version uses my stuff-and-roll method which we've also used for Almond Cinnamon Sugar Challah.
