The Literature Lost And Found Project: Knowing True Love

http://theliteraturelostandfoundproject.blogspot.com/p/knowing-true-love.html

Inspiring Tomorrow by Giving Books Today. What is real love? How do we define real love? In a group of fiction addicts, it is not uncommon for that question to come up. Is it hearts, flowers, and a box of chocolate? Is it a warm of fuzzy feeling? Is it acts of service and gifts? Perhaps we can say, “All of the above.” But real love, the unconditional type, the love that changes lives forever, is deeper than that. Simply put, God is love. That, my friend, is real love. Scarabocchi: November 2010

http://lenscarabocchi.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 15, 2010. The Word was God. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. - John 1:1. Sorta reminds me of an illustration I heard once. Just as a radio station is always broadcasting, but we can't hear it unless we tune in, so it is with God: He is always speaking, but we aren't always hearing. And don't we find in the Bible that all creation is crying out His praise? Scribbles by L. E. Neighbour. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Word was God.

Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Reflecting on 2012 and looking forward to 2013. I was actually going to write this a few days ago, but got busy with end-of-year things, so here it is now. Still the beginning of the year, so it's not too late to join the crowd and reflect on the old and look forward to the new :). 2013 is going to be the best year yet! Scribbles by L. E. Neighbour. http://lenscarabocchi.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? Scribbles by L. E. Neighbour. Monday, September 19, 2011. Sometimes there are certain words that seem to pop up more than others. It's like something is lurking in the shadows that I'm sup...

Scarabocchi: New Year thoughts (on the fly :P )

http://lenscarabocchi.blogspot.com/2013/12/new-year-thoughts-on-fly-p.html

Monday, December 30, 2013. New Year thoughts (on the fly :P ). This morning I was crunching some numbers, just on the visible side of things. My mind was absolutely blown at some of the things God has done! Things I never would have thought possible through my highly-finite little self; yet there were the cold, hard facts, right in front of my face. And I know there are probably just as many things I can't see yet or may never see. New nephew or niece on the way, July 1ish! Follow me on Facebook.

Scarabocchi: March 2011

http://lenscarabocchi.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 26, 2011. I have calmed and quieted my soul. Sometimes I have a tendency to obsess over things and over-think things. I have to remind myself to keep my mind on the Lord and let Him take care of things for me. Ascents. Of David. O LORD, my heart is not. My eyes are not. Raised too high;. Occupy myself with things. Too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul,. Child with its mother;. Like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, hope in the LORD. For they will soon.

Scarabocchi: December 2010

http://lenscarabocchi.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 3, 2010. What about the change? A fairly accurate description of the human race might be furnished [to] one unacquainted with it by taking the Beatitudes, turning them wrong-side-out and saying, 'Here is your human race.' For the exact opposite of the virtues in the Beatitudes are the very qualities which distinguish human life and conduct.". Let me quote here another part from "The Pursuit of God" which very well illustrates what I'm getting at. The man who has struggled to purify himse...

Scarabocchi: Hope.

http://lenscarabocchi.blogspot.com/2011/09/hope.html

Monday, September 19, 2011. Sometimes there are certain words that seem to pop up more than others. It's like something is lurking in the shadows that I'm supposed to find and these recurring words are my clue. So whenever I notice a common theme in stories, verses, or sermons that I encounter, I tend to pay attention. Recently I had one of those "of duh" sort of moments. I suddenly realized, "DUH! No, in fact, when hope is mentioned in the Bible, it is very much a thing of expectancy and anticipation.

Scarabocchi: He Will Not Forsake His Saints

http://lenscarabocchi.blogspot.com/2011/03/he-will-not-forsake-his-saints.html

Thursday, March 24, 2011. He Will Not Forsake His Saints. One of my favorite passages :) From the ESV, copied from Bible Gateway. He Will Not Forsake His Saints. Fret not yourself because of evildoers;. For they will soon. Like the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good;. Dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD,. Give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD;. Trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,. The d...

Therefore I read George R.R. Martin’s novel. A Game of Thrones. In approximately 13 hours. The novel almost drips with the venom of its character, I imagine if I cut myself on one of Martin’s novels I would need an injection – and quickly, for it seems that Martin seems to revel in murdering his characters.
