Nearly 10 months ago I headed to a little town called Friedrichshafen in southern Germany. I knew that great things awaited me, because I knew that God was leading me to that place. Where God leads, great things are bound to happen even if unseen to my human understanding. But I could never have anticipated that so many. Has popped out of my mouth since coming back to Minnesota. In the past 10 months,. Was what He meant.' moments. I observed and experienced the power and love and faithfulness of God in m...

With God, even a rich man can enter the narrow gate to heaven. Earthbound as we are, even we can walk on water. Paul certainly wasn't qualified to talk about love, Paul who had persecuted so many Christians as ruthlessly as possible; and yet his poem on love in 1 Corinthians is has shattering power. It is not a vague, genial sense of well-being that it offers us but a particular, painful, birth-giving love. How to translate that one word which is the key word? Photo highlights from the last year. Vimeo /...

There are dirty dishes in my sink and a thick textbook that I'm supposed to be reading, not to mention e-mails and letters that need to be written and sent; I have a feeling, though, that if I don't write this now, it won't get written at all. My health has gone considerably down-hill since last summer, which is rather discouraging after doing so well for about a year. Also, I'm. To feel settled in a new place. Frankly, I don't want to wait that long, but aparently I don't have the choice. I didn't know ...

Spring is always a time of rebirth in nature, and I find that it is often a time of rebirth and renewal for me as well. Two Springs ago I was experiencing significant healing from a long illness as well as some profound emotional and spiritual healing. Last Spring I was experiencing the excitement of my recent engagement and the anticipation of moving to Vancouver. May you experience renewal and rebirth this Spring, in body, mind, and spirit. He is like a tree. Planted by streams of water. Consider that ...

So, Gracie was here last weekend. We packed a lot into three days: taking the bus all over Vancouver, shopping, a concert, trip to the beach, movies, cooking, and loooots of eating. Come again soon! Indian Burgers and Greek Style Salad. Frantically searching through my cookbooks for. And there was still enough flavour from the other spices. It's now one of our favourite meals. 4 large unpeeled garlic cloves. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. 1 teaspoon ground coriander. 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin. Break up turke...

Gracie wanted graduation pictures, but not just any graduation pictures. She had this idea, so we trekked off to one of our favourite places - Unique Thrift Store - and found "the dress". Then we found the second one, and since I didn't want to be left out of the fun, we turned it into an afternoon of us both getting strange looks from people while we had fun taking pictures. I think this one deserves to be album art. Really, could she get any more stunning? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
