One of the most enjoyable, informative and amusing speakers we have had in a long time was professional weaver Stacey Harvey-Brown. Staceys enthusiasm is unbounded, her friendly, informal style kept us enthralled and the quality of her work speaks for itself. How I wish I had half her talent and dedication. She is an inspiration to us all. Gillie Russell-Mann - Bucks Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers.

Have loom – will travel…. 8212; Tags: exhibition. 8212; admin @ 1:33 pm. Isn’t it funny how certain things make a house feel like a home? For me, as a weaver, it has to be a loom! The French house in Gascony now has a working loom in it, and the wonderful and familiar smell of wool yarn means that France is now home! Is home to a new-to-me Louet Spring loom. Happil...

Dianne's Loom Talk: June 2015
http://loomtalk.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
My Adventures in Hand Weaving. Saturday, June 27, 2015. That inspiring title was a result of this skein of handspun yarn. As you can see it ranges in tones from deep red through hot pink with flashes of orange. I think it was spun after a workshop with Tracey White of Inspired Fibres. Quite some time ago. There wasn't much, about twelve threads of warp length so I combined it with other textured yarns, ribbon, velour, thick and thin. The fine background threads are angora, alpaca/silk and wool. New Zeala...

Silk Town Stitchers2: Folio Study Day
http://silktownstitchers2.blogspot.com/2015/05/folio-study-day.html
Tuesday, 19 May 2015. Here are two of the interesting pieces of embroidery from the Guilds vast collection. In March we had the opportunity to study these wide ranging examples in detail taking photos and making sketches so that we can interpret the designs, colours or shapes in our own style. These will then be part of the June meeting when they will be on show to all members and a vote will be made. There was a wide range of work going on and a far amount of chat as well! July - outing - tba. November ...
