Comics. Music. Culture. 8220;Hip Hop Started Out in the Art” – Tom Brevoort, Post-Racial Hip Hop and Comics. July 16, 2015. Nb: If you only have time to read one thing about Marvel editor Tom Brevoort’s latest comments, then skip this post and go check out comic artist David Brothers’ response. It is thoughtful, beautifully written, and what I’ve written here is just an echo of what he expresses so eloquently. For a cool slide effect between the original art and the comic covers. Tramping a Perpetual Journey
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Another one of my favorites, Bomba Estereo is a Colombian band with a cool pop/folk kind of feel and a lot of energy. Their music is great for dancing to and some of the quieter songs are good for relaxing and chilling out. I don't know this band as well as the others, but they have some fun songs and one of their music videos in particular (you can see it below) is really cute and has some great cinematography. They're pop/rock music, really fun and good for dancing. Access: c...

The Middle Stages: women reimagine midlife | By Amy Gage
The Middle Stages: women reimagine midlife. Elder-care duties call us to seek the best inside ourselves. I’d heard the news about women and memory loss by the time my sister sent her foreboding e-mail a little scary, sisters with a link to a story headlined: Women Descend into Alzheimer’s at Twice the Speed of Men. One in six women. Has a chance of getting Alzheimer’s by age 65, compared with one in 11 men. I recognize that truth every time I count the female heads at our mother’s memory care building.

Upgrade to paid account! 23 May 2014 @ 03:42 pm. So this is continuing. Today I just got another check from the government - this one from the U.S. District Court of Columbus, Ohio, in the amount of $32.45. What the effing eff. I bought an iPod Nano off of eBay 8 years ago - in 2006! And because I got ripped off and reported it to the US Postal Inspection Service, I'm still getting money back. They caught this guy and made him pay. So, $69.58 26.24 $32.45 = 128.27. 16 May 2014 @ 01:09 am. 22 October 2013...
