Author Archives: Tania deLuzuriaga. Maine Huts & Trails. Ever since Amina and I hiked the Grand Canyon. I’ve been wanting to do more trail running and explore running longer. My back put those goals on hold, but after successfully running 13 miles on trails in April, I let my friend Sam convince me to join a group of friends on a 30 mile trail run up in Maine. The northernmost hut in the MH&T system. The alarm went of at 5:30 the next morning. After a bagel breakfast, we loaded our packs and hiked ou...

Hiking the Kalalau trail. Chive blossom vinegar →. Hiking the Blue Hills. When you live in Boston, hiking is often a multi-day affair. At the very least, it usually involves a 2-hour drive, and lord knows the last thing I want to do after climbing a mountain is hop in the car for a few hours. Generally, I want to hop into bed for a few hours after a hike like that. Or a hammock. It’s less than a 20-minute drive from my house to this 7,000 acre reservation. Crisscrossed by trails (and a few road...I decid...

Dateline: Reykjavik | The Musing Bouche

https://themusingbouche.wordpress.com/2015/06/16/dateline-reykjavik

Hiking Mt. Chocorua →. After the winter we just had, I’m not entirely sure why Iceland in June seemed like a good idea, but something about a land of volcanoes, ice, and elves appealed, so a couple weeks ago, I unearthed my ski socks, down jacket, and mittens, and packed a bag for Reykjavik, where the average June temperature hovers below 50. My plan for this trip was to do some serious hiking in southern Iceland (more on that later), but before getting out of town, I spent a day exploring Reykjavik.

Back of the House. Back of the House. The terms back of house and front of house are used in the restaurant community to distinguish between different areas in a restaurant. The back of house is the staff area, where cooks and other support staff work, where as the front of house is the area where diners sit. And meatloaf figured frequently on the menu when I was a kid, and Friday nights were for pizza, unless it was lent, when we were guaranteed to have fish sticks. Back of the House. Birthday Extravaganza Week Begins! On August 26, 2013. The vineyard is beautiful. This week is my lovely wife’s Birthday Extravaganza Week, and yesterday we kicked it off with a trip to Barboursville Vineyard. And wrapped it up with the most amazing BBQ from The BBQ Exchange. Tuesday, April 13, 2010. My girlfriend has been begging me to post for over 6 months now and I had joked I would get around to it at Easter (almost a year after my last post). However, in my defense, I did try to post several times and there are a couple "draft" posts in the queue, but shortly after my last posting, Benjamin started walking and has been non-stop ever since! Liliana did NOT at all prepare me for Hurricane Benjamin! So, hear it goes my post (short and sweet):. Climbing the wall for eggs.

Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Well I am back, it has been a spell, I know. It has been 7 or 8 months. After the passing of my father I just did not want to feel compelled to write, share, explore.
