New York Adventures: January 2007
http://newyorkadventures.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 25, 2007. City of Brotherly Love. I'm in Philly on business for a few days and was working 12 hour days in the lead up to my trip, which is why the blog has been lacking a bit. But never fear, I think I am in for the business trip of my life (is that an oxymoron? And am having a blast! Diplomacy, Brits, Scots, white tie, police, history, politics. It's also fun to try some great Philly restaurants, such as Continental Midtown. More in a few days. Have a great weekend! Links to this post.

New York Adventures: September 2006

Thursday, September 28, 2006. How do you define an adventure? Does it involve travel, work or perhaps romance? Adventures in Europe took many twists and turns in all those areas. Unfortunately, New York adventures are off to a more mundane start. The apartment search currently ranks in the top three of my life frustrations. Commuting is also not so thrilling, though I have been fascinated by the people I have encountered. (Can I be a professional people-watcher? Who offers laundry advice on the subway?

New York Adventures: February 2007

Monday, February 26, 2007. I innocently placed my Detroit Tigers baseball hat on my head this afternoon and headed off to get my glasses fixed. So imagine my surprise when one of the opticians walked behind me at the glasses store and, with disdain in his voice, said Detroit Tiger, hah! Instantaneously, my innocence was shattered, and I remembered that I am in the land of the New York Yankees, the team whose World Series bid was ended last year byTHE DETROIT TIGERS! New York Adventures: November 2006

Sunday, November 26, 2006. Turkey, Family and Packing. Thanksgiving weekend was great! Most planned moment: my mom cooking an "emergency back-up turkey" to be used in case of a turkey disaster. Most delicious moment: the first bite of my dad's stuffing with apples and dried cherries and my mom's refrigerator mashed potatoes (potatoes with sour cream and cream cheese.). Funniest moment: my sister explaining to my mama the idea behind the MTV program: "Yo mama". Now it’s back to the commute (the last week!

Friday, March 30, 2007. Life Beyond the Heights. Brooklyn extends beyond Brooklyn Heights? I had a most wonderful evening on Tuesday checking out Boerum Hill and Fort Greene. (And by "checking out" I mean I went to one place in each neighborhoodbut heh, it’s a start.). Stop #2 was the Stonehome Wine Bar. In Fort Greene. What a gem! We sat inside, but there was a cozy patio out back that would be fun to take advantage of in the summer. As long as you skip the shrimp, you should definitely try Stonehome.
