On RUROUNI KENSHIN | The Next Thing

https://thenextthingblog.wordpress.com/2014/05/31/on-rurouni-kenshin

Thoughts On Visual Culture. Tells the story of a former legendary assassin who, after participating in the Bakumatsu war, has taken an oath to never kill again. He now wanders the countryside, wearing his reverse blade sword, and minding his own business. Of course, oaths are meant to be broken, and pretty much everything that happens in the film is direct challenge to that oath. Kenshin is lucky that he’s able to find a new community, a new home to belong to. Rurouni Kenshin. May 31, 2014. You are comme...

On PING PONG | The Next Thing

https://thenextthingblog.wordpress.com/2014/06/22/on-ping-pong

Thoughts On Visual Culture. Is an adaptation of a Taiyo Matsumoto manga that ran in. Is better than the manga, and it all has to do with the execution. There’s very little in this film that doesn’t originate from the source material, but Fumihiko transcends it at points solely because I believe we’re able to understand the rhythm of the matches better in live-action. Also known as Black and White. But he’s created numerous wonderful works). My favorite of his is probably Hana Otoko. Matsumoto’s art is a ...

Movie Night With Jhon: You Are My Pet | The Next Thing

https://thenextthingblog.wordpress.com/2013/11/30/599/comment-page-1

Thoughts On Visual Culture. Movie Night With Jhon: You Are My Pet. I’ve started writing a weekly column for the website ani.me. In this column, I’ll be taking a look at some live-action adaptations of manga and/or anime. This can range from some pretty big blockbuster titles to more obscure arthouse works. It’s all fair game. While I’ll be focusing on how these titles work as films. I’ll also have a section at the bottom of the article that discusses the source work by itself. November 30, 2013. Notify m...

The Next Testament

Saturday, April 15, 2006. The Next Testament 2006 by John. 1 Before the beginning, God is. 2 God is spirit, the supreme expression of pure and loving intelligent existence. 3 All God’s creations are spirit manifested to the highest awareness of expression. 4 There is only one God and God has no name other than Love. 5 The message of this time is to love others righteously more than one righteously loves oneself. 6 Those who have righteously chosen to be a messenger of God found no religion. 16 The world ...

The next thing to try

The next thing to try. Wednesday, June 22, 2011. How was your last 2 years? I had a baby! But that was 15 months ago. I think it's safe to try and lose that baby belly right? Goals have changed a lot. I no longer want to wear a bikini, it's funny what stretch marks and saggy skin will do to ya. :( No matter how skinny I get, no one will ever see my tummy again. In fact, it kinda looks worst when I do get skinnier, more wrinkly saggy skin. So I'm back in the game! Links to this post. How does that work?
