The Nomadic Pack

August 27, 2014. Thursday, July 10. So grateful the gray skies at the coast pushed us inland as soon as we awoke because this morning was seriously gorgeous. This was what we saw from the truck -s. Somewhat in disbelief, we immediately pulled over on the side of the road. Sun rays shining through the trees. We were completely awe of mother nature. Magical morning sun rays. Both excited and eager to go on a hike through this magical, lit up forest. Sun beams behind a tree on our trail. Me inside the tree.

Lighthouse Beach Hike – The Nomadic Pack

http://thenomadicpack.com/2014/08/19/beach-hike-to-a-lighthouse

Monday, July 7. Beautiful misty, foggy, sun shining through the clouds post sunrise. Our Lost Coast campsite the blazing sun. Had a slow morning and officially checked out at 3 pm. Filled out our free back country permit and hauled our tent and such to the beach. Walking near our proposed campsite -s. Our makeshift tent on the beach -s. Notice all those footprints in the sand at the “Lost Coast? View of our not-so Lost Coast beach walk. Me walking next to the crashing waves. After the fact, we found out ...

Turning 26 – The Nomadic Pack

http://thenomadicpack.com/2014/08/13/turning-26

On Wednesday, we checked into the hotel right on time and remained completely gluttonous without regret until our late check out the following day. Thursday, July 3. It was my 26th birthday and I was feeling so grateful for the birthday wishes I received from friends and family. I wanted to hike in nature so Brian did some quick research and found a place nearby. We hiked around the Arcadia Community Forest and met an adorable, sweet cat named Mitzy. Dog meets cat then dog runs from cat lol -s. As we got...

Chasing a Cloud – The Nomadic Pack

http://thenomadicpack.com/2014/08/25/chasing-a-cloud

Wednesday, July 9. Woke up surrounded by the great redwoods. Went back to Eureka for an oil change as well as an overall inspection at the dealership. It’s always nerve-racking when we bring our old truck in to get looked at but we got another clean bill of health. Although we typically avoid tourist traps, we decided to finally check out one of the tour through trees. Me by the Tour Thru Tree. Just excited to be barefoot. We walked close to the shore so my feet and Vinny’s paws wouldn’t burn. Receive an...

Getting to the Lost Coast – The Nomadic Pack

http://thenomadicpack.com/2014/08/15/getting-to-the-lost-coast

Getting to the Lost Coast. Friday, July 4th. Despite all of our efforts to prevent a hangover, we did not succeed. We slowly woke up and tried drinking lots of water. When we got the energy, we went back to the brewery to order some fried food. I ordered a thai seasoned free-range grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings; it was delightful. Free range chicken is delicious! Brian ordered another grass fed burger, fries and a pale ale. Saturday, July 5. Stopped at a couple ranches along the way. Before ge...

The Nomadic Nurse – Charting my way across the U.S.A.

Charting my way across the U.S.A. Our overdose of vitamin c! February 22, 2015. We have been very busy in our new little area lately. We finally had some time to actually explore Riverside, the city where the hospital I work is located this weekend. We started out at a farmers market looking for some fresh pressed juice and ended up with some juice, berries and fresh baked bread! This was the coolest tour we have ever done! He took us to each tree and explained the history behind the tree and the fruit&#...

The Nomadic Philosopher | Follow me on my Yellow Brick Road

Follow me on my Yellow Brick Road. What is ‘Freedom’? June 23, 2015. By The Nomadic Philosopher. It’s when we are. To act or think as we choose without any constraints, so can it really exist? We are influenced by our peers, the media, and our environment throughout our life, so are our thoughts ever truly free? I speak as the eldest and even as a child, I would have to look out for my sibling, so was I ever truly free to think as a carefree child when I had to make sure my sibling was safe? It can, whic...
