Croatian Adventure: Finding Romans in Pula. June 20, 2016. July 4, 2016. Pula is one of the largest cities on the Istrian peninsula of Croatia. I was pleasantly surprised by the fast amount of Roman ruins and landmarks that I found during my stroll through the city. Pula has been known for its shipping industry and served as a Roman military outpost. The Roman arena has been preserved through the centuries and spectacular find in the heart of the city. Rovinj made quite an impression on me with its beautiful colorful old town and the huge stone tower looming over the city from a top the hill.
