apple pie & egg rolls: I Still Gotcha
http://rushandjen.blogspot.com/2013/03/i-still-gotcha.html
Apple pie and egg rolls. Tuesday, March 26, 2013. I can so vividly recall walking through alleys and stepping over puddles on the half-paved backstreets of Guangzhou. I was sweating, but that had more to do with anxious anticipation than the humid Chinese air. We hustled into an ordinary looking building, jumped on an elevator and came around a corner. There you were. Beautiful. Smiling. Wobbly on your feet. Playful. Perfect. My son. I can't wait to see. April 10, 2013 at 6:51 PM. Happy One Year together!

Apple pie and egg rolls. Sunday, May 27, 2012. My Little Graduate (Sunday Snapshot). Miss Reagan finished preschool this week.which is crazy, because I swear she just started. It's amazing how quickly this year has gone by. And it's even more amazing to think that her first day of preschool last. Year, was the day before we left to go get Rylie from China. It just reminds me that really, Rylie hasn't been home all that long. Here's Reagan on her first day, back in September. Links to this post. Admittedl...

apple pie & egg rolls: Same Love, Different Love
http://rushandjen.blogspot.com/2012/10/same-love-different-love.html
Apple pie and egg rolls. Thursday, October 25, 2012. Same Love, Different Love. I think one of the biggest misgivings people have about adoption is wondering if they can love an adopted child as much as a biological child. I've been asked it. And I've answered it in various ways.depending on where we were on this journey. I'm going to be honest here. Can I really love this kid? I mean, really. Love her like my others? Without trying to convince other people? And if I can.when? When will it happen? I love...

From the Belly of The Whale: ...their beloved soldier...
http://fromthebellyofthewhale.blogspot.com/2007/04/their-beloved-soldier.html
From the Belly of The Whale. MUSINGS FROM THE HEART. Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Master Corporal Anthony Klumpenhouwer. We heard the awful news last night on the way home from AWANAS. The girls told us that their friends’ brother had died in Afghanistan. Immediately my heart sank as I thought of this young man whom we had not seen for a long time. He had been a soldier for a few years now. My prayers and tears are with them as they begin to say goodbye to a precious piece that makes them who they are.

http://thethreeamigosgonzales.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 24, 2012. Fighting the Bah Humbugs. I'm not in my usual CHRISTMAS spirit. It'll come, I hope. But, I'm not even really in the mood to shop. SAY WHAT? My decorations aren't up yet as planned because November was full of rain and busy-ness. But, what's new? Want it. But, I do know this. Christmas WILL come anyway and it's not about what I want. It's about Jesus. 1 Anna and Daddy date. 2 Mommy and Anna date to The Nutcracker. 3 Donate food to the food pantry. 5 Send a card to a deployed s...

The Three Amigos: FALL
http://thethreeamigosgonzales.blogspot.com/2012/09/fall.html
Thursday, September 6, 2012. It's unofficially fall. Yes, I know it's still HOT out here in Virginia. Yes, I know fall isn't officially official till Sept. 22nd, it's my FAVORITE season and so I'm pretty pumped that we have hit September. Here's a list of the things I'm looking forward to THIS year. Jeans, boots, sweaters, sweatshirts. I miss my boots. Like really bad. I can't wait to put them on again. I've already been wearing jeans even though it's still pretty warm most days. Pick apples. This is...

apple pie & egg rolls: July 2012
http://rushandjen.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Apple pie and egg rolls. Friday, July 27, 2012. While each church puts their own little spin on their VBS, couldn't you argue that for the most part they are all pretty much the same? I could keep going on and on with other reasons why its more of a Mommy-style gig. I know most of them by heart because I have used them as excuses in the past myself. Without question our wives and kids need us for all those things. The running toilet can wait. Links to this post. Thursday, July 19, 2012. It's not crazy sc...

apple pie & egg rolls: November 2013
http://rushandjen.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Apple pie and egg rolls. Sunday, November 24, 2013. Why are my kids so unlucky? When people hear the story of our family's multiple adoptions they often come to two completely inaccurate assumptions:. 1) Y'all are such good people to adopt these kids. 2) Your kids are so lucky. The first misconception is easy to debunk. We are NOT. But the second assumption has to be correct, right? But the truth is that the last word I would use to describe my two adopted kids is lucky. Why? Turned. There was a fami...

The Three Amigos: September 2011

Thursday, September 15, 2011. Learning to Love My Home. I am seriously knee deep in wedding stuff right now. I have a wedding on the 24th and have a. Few things to do before then. I got a lot done yesterday so I'm feeling a little better about it but I also have a million napkins to iron.OK, maybe NOT a million but I do have 200 to iron. Yikes. Needless to say, my house is being kept up but I'm not really doing any major projects around the house at the moment. So, what am I blogging about my home for?
