Sunday, May 1, 2011. I am writing this from an apartment in Cusco! Well, it was a long flight to Lima last night but it was worth it! In Peru, they eat a light breakfast and a heavy lunch. She says that she generally does not prepare dinner. She has also lent me the use of her computer, which will be very helpful. I miss you so much, and wish that you could be right here with me. 3 Also, I have no idea how to write blogs, so if you have any suggestions/questions I should answer, please let me know!

Tuesday, May 10, 2011. My service learning has finally started! The teacher and students speak no English, so there has been a lot of facial expressions and miming to communicate. I guess what surprised me the most was the complete lack of scheduling. As a detailed, well-organized person I have been programmed into the American way of life- plan things weeks in advance and stay on schedule as much as possible! Friday, April 22, 2011. I believe the experience will be very beneficial to my future by teaching me how to work with students from different backgrounds. Our class will also get to experience the rich culture and history of Peru through weekend trips. We'll be visiting many prominent sites, including Chincheros, Machuu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, Colca Canyon, Arequipa, and the Plaza de Armas. I can't wait to learn more about the Incan empire! 3 onzas de pisco. 1 onza de jugo de limón. 1 onza de jarabe de goma. 1 clara de huevo. 06 cubos de hielo. Gotas de Amargo de Angostura.
