Welcome to the "Readerly Life" - The Readerly Blog

http://www.thereaderlylife.com/the-readerly-blog.html

Welcome to the "Readerly Life". My life as a reader began in childhood. Books were available and learning to read was easy for me. As I grew up there were many times that reading held a less prominent place in my life. Of course. Quantity of reading as with the quality. Please share your thoughts. JM. I have loved helping children learn to read for over 30 years as a teacher. Now that I am retired, I am not ready to stop, but to use what I have learned in a new way.

Welcome to the "Readerly Life". By "Readerly Life" I am referring to that dimension of life that occurs in one's mind in response to interaction with printed word. The quality of that interaction is naturally enhanced as the reader's confidence grows.

The reader lines

Books are my life! 11:18 pm 21 April 2014. Landscape, the song for Tarryn Fisher's Mud Vein. If there’s one thing I love more than a book, that’s music. So, I love when authors give songs to their writing. I always spotlight when I find a mention of a song in the book I’m currently reading. That’s why I was so thrilled when I read about Landscape in Tarryn Fisher’s Mud Vein. This is not the kind of book I use to read, but this song gave it another feeling. 12:20 pm 10 April 2014. 1:20 pm 9 April 2014.

The blog of The Reader magazine. The Reader of Absurdist Books

The Reader of Absurdist Books. The reader will read absurdist books and discuss them. For the purposes of this blog, absurdist books are books in which the world is meaningless and God if he or she exists is capricious and arbitrary. Or something. Also, you will sometimes find author interviews here. They will usually be about some aspect of the craft of writing. This blog will not be updated very often. I apologize for that. Cutting Room

Cutting Room Floor is home to a sea of snark and snippets about upcoming movies, rumors about films, and other assorted nonsense. Sure, the information is mostly accumulated from other reputable sources, but the sarcasm is 100% home grown. Friday, November 5, 2010. Movie Review: Due Date. Breaks water, no new ground. The filth wake of a new Jackass. Film makes other movies’ attempts to shock with ribald humor futile, even with dialogue like I vomited in the wound. Nice try, Due Date. Because Ethan is a r...
