The river in the pines. Watching people watch geysers. After i snapped these photos on the boardwalk yesterday, i stumbled upon these completely awesome sightseer portraits. From yellowstone and other tourist destinations. i am in love with them. In this post: yellowstone. I think peter pan might have built the old faithful inn. Lodgepole pine railings and an enormous rhyolite fireplace and crows' nests and chaos. So glad to be spending my last yellowstone days in this building, with the other lost boys.

The river in the pines. Our last full day in puerto rico, we drove into El Yunque National Park and got down in the rainforest. we climbed, serenaded by coquis. And drenched in humidity, to the highest point on the island and chilled in the "cloud forest" at the top. then we descended into the jungle to bathe in some spectacular waterfalls. Friday, November 29, 2013. Stephen and I went to Brussels last weekend to see Arcade Fire. In concert*, selecting Brussels out of the European options (Brussels, Paris, Berlin) because neither of us had ever been there. In the five years I've lived in Germany, I'd still never even been to Belgium! Through Belgium, sure, but I hadn't ever stopped there. Brussels. Who knew. The Arcade Fire concert was very, very fun. It was a fancy dress or costume concert, so we busted back out our crocodile and roach.

Last weekend, in desperate need of getting off German soil, I packed up and visited a friend in Amsterdam for approximately 38 hours. This isn’t a whole lot of time to dedicate to one’s inaugural visit to a country, but in this time I managed to:. Spend some time in a coffee shop. Eat (probably) my weight in Stroop. Snap a few pictures on a cloudy, self-guided walking tour of the city center. Not a bad way to spend a weekend.

It was an epic weekend. we packed as much family aupair outing time as possible into our last weekend together. we drove to france and fed popcorn to monkeys. and went to a falconry. And had two picnics. and ate ice cream. and walked around a sweet open air museum. Another marzipan croissant with coffee. An ode on turkish food.
