The Scribble Pad: About

http://www.thescribblepadblog.com/p/connect.html

Hi, Shannon here! I'm married to best friend Mark. Together we are navigating the crazy world of parenting two boys. We call ourselves accidental urbanites, never having imagined we would be raising our family in the heart of a city. Our sons, Behr and Hudson love to be loud and on the go, just like most of Washington, DC. They fit right in. Learned to bake and began painting again. I never quite know how to foster my creative outlets, but I love to help others foster theirs. How did you and Mark meet?

The Scribble Pad: Baby Meal Planning: 7-9 Months

http://www.thescribblepadblog.com/2011/10/baby-meal-planning-7-9-months.html

Baby Meal Planning: 7-9 Months. Behr eating at six months. These pictures are old, but I love the intensity of his expression. After recently seeing them again, I have been dying to use them in a post! Stepping into the world of baby food has left me with more questions than straight answers. After hours of internet searching, ending up in dead ends and more confusion, I finally realized that the answers I was looking for aren't searchable. And the first foods. Blueberry Smoothie - blend 2/3 cup of froze...

The Scribble Pad: Bright Five Favorites

http://www.thescribblepadblog.com/2011/10/bright-five-favorites.html

Warning: This is a ridiculously random list of finds. This view may or may not be influenced by the fact that I am ready for baby no. 2 but not yet pregnant}. The last pint of the season sitting on the top shelf of our refrigerator. And other similarly hued goodness. A confesstion: I overuse the exclamation. Admitting you have a problem is the first step right? A new kind of kneepad, cropping up on the interwebs seen here. From k.slademade and a giveaway. To boot. But I don't really want you to enter.

The Scribble Pad: Packing for Summer Adventures

Packing for Summer Adventures. If you aren't sure yet, I am an over packer. Don't let the picture above fool you! 1 / The perfect beach blanket. I've been looking for a few years. Its thicker than a sheet, like a quilt without batting and it isn't hideous or overly florally. It is lighter and bigger that the sweatshirt blanket we have used in years past. 3 / One bucket of toys. 4 / The ergo. 5 / Rash guard. We have a soft-side collapsible cooler. I love tuna sandwiches, potato chips, peanut butter cracke...

The Scribble Pad: Little Days with Hudson

http://www.thescribblepadblog.com/2013/06/little-days-with-hudson.html

Little Days with Hudson. It is high time Hudson made an appearance on little days. I have had these pictures for a few weeks, but wasn't sure if they would ever make the blog. These pictures are from before I cut my hair. From a moment when I was cranky and barking at the people I love, before this post. These pictures are from the height of colic and Hudson wasn't having it. We are slowly creeping out of colic (I am so afraid to say that! Ps My shirt is from stitch fix. To spruce up my wardrobe. Im SO h...

I will be hosting a Matilda Jane. Now, those of y’all that know me, know that I’m addicted to this clothing line. Like, seriously. Addicted. And for good reason, y’all! The women’s line is amazing, too – lots of eye-catching pieces that look great dressed up OR down. I’ll be hosting a show for the 4. I love to endorse ...

Just the Five of Us: Allenby Road Trip - Part Two - Ohio

http://theateamfour.blogspot.com/2014/08/allenby-road-trip-part-two-ohio.html

Sunday, August 24, 2014. Allenby Road Trip - Part Two - Ohio. After our amazing time in Pittsburgh. It was a really special visit that I'll remember for a long time. So great to spend time together and definitely made me miss my Dad like crazy. At 90 years old Grampy was kicking around the soccer ball with the boys! After a brief stop at Carroll High School we hit the road for Columbus where we stopped at Uncle Greg's house for a short visit and swim in his pool on our way to Cleveland! After another str...

Totally Floored (AKA Half-Bath Makeover, Part 3) ~ {IN}Design

http://blogindesign.blogspot.com/2013/03/totally-floored-aka-half-bath-makeover.html

Mar 15, 2013. Totally Floored (AKA Half-Bath Makeover, Part 3). You can read part 1 here. And part 2 here. Yes, there is plastic wrap around the toilet. This was our fancy way of protecting it as we painted the wall behind it. When choosing a tile design we wanted one that had some gray undertones. Thankfully we were able to find one that we loved. It's called the Style Selections 12" x 12" Gray/Brown Slate Finish Vinyl Tile. After a three day weekend, around $38, and a little hard work we went from this:.

Pinterest Challenge: Winter 2013 ~ {IN}Design

http://blogindesign.blogspot.com/2013/02/pinterest-challenge-winter-2013.html

Feb 27, 2013. Pinterest Challenge: Winter 2013. Have you seen the Pinterest Challenge project, start by Young House Love. If not, check out the newest challenge here. How cute is that video of the kids? The basic gist is to encourage bloggers to actually make something that they've pinned! Novel concept, right? I tend to be pretty good about making recipes I've tried on Pinterest (see my 'Accomplished' board here. From House of Fifty. Mirror (Hobby Lobby, $3.00- I had a 40% coupon). I started by cutting ...

I'm Probably Crazy: April 2013

http://probablycrazykimberly.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 29, 2013. My dad is the king of nicknames. We all had several growing up. Some are obvious, like Kim Kim. Some are less obvious, like Monchichi (my brother Rob's because he had a buzz cut and looked like this. I guess I take after my dad (I can hear Adam laughing in my head. He would say that is an understatement! Axel has several nicknames. My favorite thing is watching Olivia call him by what ever name I just used. It's very sweet. Just a few of the names we call Axel:. In five years I'll...

Half-Bath Striped Makeover, Part 2 ~ {IN}Design

http://blogindesign.blogspot.com/2013/03/half-bath-striped-makeover-part-2.html

Mar 8, 2013. Half-Bath Striped Makeover, Part 2. A few days ago I wrote about the first steps I took to turn my half-bath from a boring beige box to an inspired, striped room. You can read the first part here. When I left you I had finished all my measuring and taping by Saturday evening. Right after I finished the second coat, before it was fully dry, I slowly and carefully peeled off the tape. And this is what I was left with:. Tomorrow: A new floor for $18. UPDATE: View part three, the new floor, here.

Outdoor To-Do List ~ {IN}Design

http://blogindesign.blogspot.com/2013/04/outdoor-to-do-list.html

Apr 11, 2013. I don't know about you, but I am SO happy for the warmer weather we've been having recently. At one point I was pretty sure Indiana was never going to see sunshine or temperatures above 40 degrees ever again. This nice weather has me thinking about all of our outside projects. So here is our outdoor to-do list, as of today. My hope is that most of this gets accomplished in 2013, but we all know how that goes. I'll post progress pictures as we chip away at the list. 7 Do some landscaping and...

Adventures with Chalk Paint, Part 2 ~ {IN}Design

http://blogindesign.blogspot.com/2013/02/adventures-with-chalk-paint-part-2.html

Feb 24, 2013. Adventures with Chalk Paint, Part 2. Have you read part 1 about making your own chalk paint? If not, start there. So last time I left you hanging on the edge of your seat with my 'before' picture:. I bought the buffet to go in this space in our dining room. Since the room is very neutral I wanted the buffet to be a pop of color (the shelves and wallpaper were put up by the house's previous owner):. This picture was taken the day we moved in. Can't wait to change that chandelier! If I wanted...

Friday, June 25, 2010. A New Project and a Spokesperson for MS. There is a new project in the works at The Scribble Group. This project was spearheaded by member, kritterknitter. Using this phrase, we were given the task of creating a piece that in our own unique way represents this quote. The first of the projects are now listed in the shop.
