Ideas and reflections from my teaching experiences. Nipping it in the bud. Soon our summer courses will be finished, teachers will gradually slip away into holiday bliss and classrooms will rest for a while. Today I realized it’s exactly the same with poor management. Timetabling favouritisms, inconsistent flexible working hours, detachment from teaching staff, fumbling of negative feedback, inappropriate comments ( any others you wish too add? Ideas and reflections from my teaching experiences. Nipping it in the bud. Soon our summer courses will be finished, teachers will gradually slip away into holiday bliss and classrooms will rest for a while. On these summer courses for pre-teens and teens, we’ve often had teacher chats about keeping them in line without losing the fun, enjoyable element of a summer course and the old chestnut of … More Nipping it in the bud. MY FAVOURITE ONLINE RESOURCES. Making a Learning Tool out of Twitter. Second year in a row that I am using Twitter as a learning tool and, as the old adage says “. You live and learn”. Why set up a twitter account for class? As a twitter user myself, I quickly realised how useful it could become for my students: they’d increase their exposure to language by engaging more in reading and writing. Besides, they would have the chance to connect and easily keep updated with what was going on in class. Having ...

MY FAVOURITE ONLINE RESOURCES. Category Archives: Just thinking. Posted in Just thinking. I love the gardening analogy, and I think it works really well with anything related to language learning. Take the wild flower. Now, a home-grown plant. Love, life, and language learning. Reflections and thoughts on #TEFL, education, learner autonomy, creativity, equality, and beyond. Animal Hybrids – Animators, Animals, and ELT. April 3, 2012. Each remaining English class at Film School Zlín (closing down in summer) is a blessing for me. I try to treasure it with my whole heart and I’m blessed with students who actually make it.
