Jeff and Beth Gutierrez. Monday, May 28, 2012. Memorial Day Fun: A Walk around Walden Pond. Today Jeff and I took an early morning walk at Walden Pond, near Concord, MA. This is the location of Henry David Thoreau's book, Walden. We walked 1.7 miles, enjoying the beautiful and quiet scenery. Tonight I have mixed emotions as I share with you the passing of my husband's Grandma Jo (who was pretty much my own Grandma) and the joy of the life that she lived. Our Grandma, Johanna Zomermaand, 88, of Struble, Iowa died Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. We had Maddy's celebration of life service on Saturday and it was a very lovely service. Perfectly tailored to the dinosaur loving little girl that she was! Her family loves her so much, the community surrounding them loves them so much. It is a whole month already that she has been gone and it feels like only a second. Sweet Madison, you will never be forgotten. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Thursday, August 28, 2014. My sweet boy turned five months old already. The time is flying by impossibly fast and I'm not sure how I feel about it! Sunday, March 29, 2015. Rookie of the year. My sweet baby boy has turned into quite the little guy. Full of personality- sweet, curious, happy, playful and silly. He has a serious love for his big sister, his daddy, his bottle and playing with balls. This past year as been a fast a furious one, but I have enjoyed each stage he has gone through during it. He was a perfect newborn, an enjoyable 3-9 month old (not always the case! His newborn, 6 months and 9 month pictures all taken with the same baseball.
