The View From Here: The View From Here

http://theviewfromher.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-view-from-here.html

The View From Here. Tuesday, December 03, 2013. The View From Here. From my dining room window last night. There are days when I wish for a better camera, sigh. My very first knitted project with my homespun yarn. A hat for Steve. He loves it. Since this was my first yarn ever, it was a bit rough in spots. Where it got really thin I did a little what I call cut and paste. It worked in the end. There might be enough for mittens. Posted by Rositta @ Tuesday, December 03, 2013. The View From Here.

The View From Here: It's Almost Time

http://theviewfromher.blogspot.com/2014/07/its-almost-time.html

The View From Here. Sunday, July 06, 2014. Had I known how difficult the recovery would be I'm not sure I would have tone through with it. The older you are the harder it is to recover and having rheumatoid arthritis and fybro just adds a mess to the mix. In September my son and family arrive. It is the start of their one year sabbatical from teaching and they will travel some of the world. We will miss them as a year is a long time to be away, especially our granddaughter Elliotte. The View From Here: Ice Storm

http://theviewfromher.blogspot.com/2013/12/ice-storm.html

The View From Here. Tuesday, December 24, 2013. We survived just about the worst ice storm I've seen in all my years living in Canada. We made it through 48 hours without electricity and heat and live to tell the tale. Not quite that dramatic, I exaggerate maybe just a little, but it was bad. And that was Monday morning. The tree hanging on our hydro line out front is still there, no one has come by to clean it up yet. It is impossible to get through to any emergency services right now. We are ho...Middl...

She Knits Too: Where Has The Time Gone?

http://rositta-sheknitstoo.blogspot.com/2010/01/where-has-time-gone.html

Wife, Mother, Grandmother with lots of varied hobbies. A place to post my knitting and someday soon my pottery stuff. My goal is to get back into my studio this summer. Monday, January 18, 2010. Where Has The Time Gone? Meanwhile there has been some progress on the Nefertiti wrap. I have just started chart 4 of 14 charts in total. I know it doesn't look like it right now but this shawl will be a rectangle according to the pattern. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Posted by Rositta at 9:10 PM. Hey Doc, t...

Wife, Mother, Grandmother with lots of varied hobbies. A place to post my knitting and someday soon my pottery stuff. My goal is to get back into my studio this summer. Monday, December 21, 2009. It all started over here. I should never read this blog when I'm looking for ideas of things to knit when I get bored with socks. I held back a few day because I had to buy this pattern and as another knitting blogger buddy. Classic Wool and take about 15 minutes. The hat below was done with Noro. I love your tw...

Wife, Mother, Grandmother with lots of varied hobbies. A place to post my knitting and someday soon my pottery stuff. My goal is to get back into my studio this summer. Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Nefertiti Wrap On Hold. It's on hold for two reasons. The first is that my operated eye is not working very well yet but hopefully that will improve soon. Nope, I'd still be short. So until I can figure out the next move this is going into my unfinished basket for a while. Posted by Rositta at 12:56 PM.

Wife, Mother, Grandmother with lots of varied hobbies. A place to post my knitting and someday soon my pottery stuff. My goal is to get back into my studio this summer. Monday, February 26, 2007. Green Sock Knit Along. My green socks are finished, finally and yes I did have enough yarn, just barely. I suppose that I need to pay more attention to the yardage when I buy yarn. If I had made them just a little longer there would not have been enough yarn. Posted by Rositta at 12:12 PM. I have to make a corre...

One Down, One To Go! This is the cutest little short sock, I really love it. I'm going to have to make another pair as soon as these are done. They will work well with tennis shoes or walking shoes when I'm on my trip. I absolutely hate being barefoot in shoes. This yarn from KnitPiks. Posted by Rositta at 9:23 PM.

Wife, Mother, Grandmother with lots of varied hobbies. A place to post my knitting and someday soon my pottery stuff. My goal is to get back into my studio this summer. Tuesday, October 30, 2007. After almost two months I have returned and hope to get some knitting done soon. Interestingly, I took a lot of wool with me to Greece, half of one suitcase full actually but hardly any knitting got done. I think I might have done a couple of inches on a sock and even after smuggling bamboo dp's. Knit 1 Blog Too.

Wife, Mother, Grandmother with lots of varied hobbies. A place to post my knitting and someday soon my pottery stuff. My goal is to get back into my studio this summer. Monday, November 26, 2007. Work In Progress - One Finished Item. I finished one sock and cast on for the second, when I got a little sidetracked. I spent the afternoon watching the rain come down and knit this itty bitty hat. I wonder who would like to have it for Christmas. Why are all the nice sock patterns written in chart? On this gra...

The View from Hell | the search for patterns and the thickening of meaning

The View from Hell. The search for patterns and the thickening of meaning. March 24, 2015. March 25, 2015. The mountain is a natural, physical, geographic pattern that offers itself as a hard-to-fake measurement of human effort. Its ritual and cognitive significance is difficult to understand without climbing it, but I will offer an account of its place in the human order as best I can. Many places occupied by humans (including my current home) have no mountains at all. In. Here, the empty road curves ar...

The View from Hemingway's Attic. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. When I was up in the Boundary Waters on the old logging roads on a motorcycle following the grey sandy roads through fallen trees and second growth forests I had the feeling that I was on the edge of the last frontier. It was summer and I had been away from the "Lower forty eight" for three weeks and one definitely felt there was this life and there was the modern life below. Links to this post. the view from her

The view from her. The problem of being right. It’s been a difficult couple of weeks in the Kingdom. Many of us watched silently with shock and awe as social media exploded in a firestorm of outrage, condemnation, and judgement by all kinds of believers over decision(s) made by World Vision. Is it possible that our attitudes are wrong? Have we lost all capacity to even attempt self-evaluation of our motivation? UPDATE March, 2015:. That might work. I like some of Fast Company’s 11 suggestions. And these ...

The view from here. Thursday, January 27, 2011. The problem with us these days is not that we miss the forest for the trees, but that we miss the trees for the forest. You'd only need to pay a visit to the swarms of people at travel fairs or flip to the last half of the classifieds section in the straits times to realize that you won't be the only ones at that Exclusive Island Getaway For $3,999 that you'd wanted to retreat to. The View From Here

The View From Here. Thursday, December 25, 2014. Day Two.Feeling Acutely Alive. The last time I felt this kind of aliveness, (it isn't excitement, or intrigue, or high interest, or high passion), was at the moment that my mother took her last breath, March 3, 2001. I feel as though his or her soul's generosity, of sparing us - the witnesses - was on full display. I have seen several people pass away as a volunteer chaplain for hospice, but those people knew life was ending. I am forever changed. It is a ...
