Spelt and Kale Lunch Salad. July 27, 2015. If you aim bring lunch to work every day, I’m sure you’ve had one of these nights: it’s past your bedtime, you have absolutely nothing lunch-worthy in the fridge, and you want an easy option to pack the next morning. Recipe: Spelt and Kale Lunch Salad. 1 cup uncooked spelt (I used Bob’s Red Mill. 2 tsp honey (or more to taste). 2 tbsp dijon mustard. 1/3 c olive oil. 1 bunch curly kale. 1/2 cup sunflower seeds. Pour off any excess water from your cooked spelt.

Packing for a 2-week Trip with the Timbuk2 Aviator. May 25, 2014. When we booked a 2-week trip to Germany, I needed to replace my broken old backpack. Timbuk2’s Aviator backpack. The smaller, non-wheeled version) caught my eye. I liked how the front fully unzipped so you could pack with full access, just like a suitcase. I also liked the subtle design and black color; it’s more of a city bag than something you’d take on a camping trip. 2 pairs of leggings (1 black, 1 gray print). 1 pair running shorts.

Category Archives: small bites. January 15, 2015. Over 5 years after our honeymoon in Hawaii, I’m recreating one of my favorite discoveries of the trip: Spam Musubi. We picked some up in a convenience store near the volcanoes and it was an unexpectedly good breakfast. It was also the first time I’d ever eaten Spam. Though we had plenty of fresh fruit, raw fish, and other delights, this portable snack stuck in my mind. Makes 10. Adapted from several recipes. 2 cups uncooked sushi rice. 1/2 cup rice vinegar.

A Candle in the Dark: Documentary Night: A Short History of In-Home Heating

Thursday, February 13, 2014. Documentary Night: A Short History of In-Home Heating. I get the feeling that this is somehow funded by a petroleum company trying to convince us that they "care." Regardless, Neil Oliver is awesome and even this five-minute short is worth a watch. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I hate it that those people have seemingly claimed the word. A Candle in the Dark: I Received A Copyright Notice Today

Tuesday, May 20, 2014. This is the first warning of such kind that I have ever received. And yes, I did indeed download I, Frankenstein. That's not to say that piracy isn't an issue that needs to be addressed; it certainly is. The problem is that current laws are a poor tool to address the issue, and the issue itself is incredibly complex, with aspects to it that are economic, social, ethical, and legal. Secondly, along with being pissed, I was confused as all get out. And again, shouldn't you, oh hypoth...

A Candle in the Dark: The Root Of Conservative Action: Prejudice
http://acandleinthedark.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-root-of-conservative-action.html
Saturday, May 31, 2014. The Root Of Conservative Action: Prejudice. Ne of my most frequently-trotted-out attacks against conservatives is that they rarely understand their own history. They rarely understand that what they are arguing for today. For example, the early anti-abortion movement never had anything to do with protecting babies. Children and women were still frequently seen as, more or less, the property. Back then, stopping abortions was all about stopping women from having control. The cr...
