Sunday, August 21, 2011. My kids have been away since Wednesday and while I've gotten so much accomplished over the past few days, I am looking forward to their return home this afternoon. I miss them terribly and I would be lying if I said I wasn't totally geeked out about teaching them this week. The Wiehl World: July 2011

http://thewiehlworld.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 30, 2011. The New School Year. I have been having so much fun planning our lessons for the upcoming school year. We've already finished two weeks, but decided to postpone the third week to accommodate a heavily planned week. I decided that since it is still July, and we got started a bit early, it would be better to take a week off than attempt to cram it all in. Week 3 - Jamestown. Story Of The World Volume 3, Chapter 3. A Child's History of The World, Story #66- King James The Servant.

The Wiehl World: My Homeschooling FAQ

http://thewiehlworld.blogspot.com/2011/03/my-homeschooling-faq.html

Wednesday, March 23, 2011. I've been confronted with quite a few homeschooling myths recently. Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. Homeschoolers have lots of free time. Yes, I know there are some homeschoolers who manage to learn everything they need to know by simply living life and "unschooling." I'm not that smart. I use books and the books take time. Homeschoolers are weird and unsocialized. Maddie doesn't like Bratz and Hanna Montana? Are you sure they are good?

Banana Collage Art Project | School in the Basement

https://schoolinthebasement.wordpress.com/2012/01/19/banana-collage-art-project

School in the Basement. Random posts about homeschooling or food. Banana Collage Art Project. January 19, 2012. The Bean's banana collage. This year we’ve been focusing more on art than we have in the past. The Bean has always taken out-of-home art classes, and some have been better than others, but this year we’ve ramped up our homeschool art experience a notch or two. I credit Pinterest. When I was on a magazine binge. I love the folks at Carus Publishing. And we subscribe to a few of their magazines (.

School in the Basement. Random posts about homeschooling or food. American Village field trip. September 16, 2011. The Bean’s history studies bring us to the New World this year, so we will be spending a lot of time on American history in the coming months. Last Friday we went on a fun field trip to The American Village. In Montevallo, where we participated in or watched several vignettes in which reenactors took us through several scenes in Revolutionary America. The kids all seemed to enjoy their muske...

School in the Basement. Random posts about homeschooling or food. January 21, 2012. Hard-boiled eggs, edamame, star-shaped honeydew, sushi, and cherry tomatoes. School in the Basement. Random posts about homeschooling or food. Curriculum planning …. May 11, 2015. Next year we’ll have a 9th grader, a 4th grader, and a 1st grader. They are all so different! We’re starting to plan curriculum, not that we always adhere to our plans, or any curriculum for that matter …. Obviously, there’s still a lot to nail down between now and this fall, but this is where we are now. From → Uncategorized. Larr; Lunchbox ideas. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

School in the Basement. Random posts about homeschooling or food. Recycled corrugated packing material pillow boxes. January 20, 2012. This is a pillow box. Cute, eh? I am always getting packages full of packing material I just KNOW has a higher purpose. I’ve had a roll of this corrugated packing material staring at me for a few months:. Yep That's corrugated packing material. I cut it into a square to pose for this photo. Put some tape on the inside of one of the sides parallel to the corrugation. But i...

For the record, I am having issues loading photos onto blogger so that’s a huge reason I have not blogged…no one wants to read my blabber, they want to see pictures of the almost 2.5 year old in my life. Friday, February 26, 2010. Kymber had her first science fair. It was actually really fun for our entire family. Greg and I had fun helping create the project and Anna and Jillian loved going to school and watching all the kids present their projects. Kymber's experiment was to see if she could take white flowers and make them change different colors. She was a very serious presenter! I think I have a future in being a florist, we had some funky flowers! Monday, January 18, 2010. Saturday, January 9, 2010.
