The Wine Noob

Learning about wine, one at a time! Monday, November 12, 2012. Bricco dell' Uccellone Barbera D'Asti 2004. Just last night I had a phenomenal wine that got me thinking about writing again- and well, here I am! This wine was a 2004 Barbera D'Asti, made by Giacomo Bologna, an amazing wine producer, who in some circles is credited with the marriage between the barbera grape and barrel aging. It was deeply jammy, the forefront of the nose was dark fruity, with JAMMY red and black currant berries, but it was ...

The Wine Noob: March 2012

http://thewinenoob.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Learning about wine, one at a time! Monday, March 26, 2012. Villadoria Bricco Magno Langhe Rosso 2007. Let me just start off by saying that I really like this wine. For $13.99 this wine gives you a boat load of Barolo and Barbaresco characteristics that would otherwise cost you at the very least $30, and often soar up into the $200 range. This is because the wine comes from an area within a few miles of Barolo and Barbaresco's vineyards, and is produced with the same exact grape: Nebbiolo. Be able to enj...

Learning about wine, one at a time! Monday, May 28, 2012. H Sorrel Le Gréal Hermitage 1989. Okay, so if you've been keeping up with the blog- you'd know that I just recently wrote about an aged cabernet from Napa. Yeah, it was pretty great. But get this- right after I had that 1999 cabernet. I had a 1989. Hermitage. This wine was freaking 23 years old. It was a gift to my father from a close friend of his years. Posted by Marco Bruno. The Wine Noob: February 2012

http://thewinenoob.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Learning about wine, one at a time! Friday, February 24, 2012. Sagelands Cabernet Sauvignon 2007. For those of you getting the idea I'm purchasing the wine myself, I just want to say that the wines I try are the wines that my parents bring home to try and see how they are- and once again, with their supervision, I get to try them (and spit them out.) The misleading introduction is just the cuddling and the necking before the real deal. This, my friends, is a garnet. On to the wine! I say again, in my Med...

The Wine Noob: June 2012

http://thewinenoob.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Learning about wine, one at a time! Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Long time no see! As you can tell, it's been quite a while since our last wine encounter. Don't get any funny ideas, fellas. The Wine Noob has had to take a bit of a hiatus due to some unforeseen happenings. Be that playing Chrono Trigger on the Super Nintendo or watching Madmen. I've been a little preoccupied. Without further ado, I bid you adieu until the next post. See ya' soon, fellas! Posted by Marco Bruno. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
