Things We Ate: Menu Monday
http://thingsweate.blogspot.com/2012/01/menu-monday.html
Our attempt at losing weight, saving money, and eating ethically without sacrificing flavor. Monday, January 16, 2012. This week should be a pretty quiet week. I have today off, so we're heading to the coast for the day. I'm working the rest of the week, and we really don't have a lot going on, so we decided it would be a good opportunity to try out some recipes I found on Pinterest. If you haven't used Pinterest. So without further ado, here is the weekly menu and activity schedule:. I still haven't got...
Things We Ate: Recipe Review: Sweet Potato Bread
http://thingsweate.blogspot.com/2012/01/recipe-review-sweet-potato-bread.html
Our attempt at losing weight, saving money, and eating ethically without sacrificing flavor. Saturday, January 14, 2012. Recipe Review: Sweet Potato Bread. I've never been much of a cook - Matt is definitely the expert in that area. But I've always enjoyed baking. Although it's been a remarkably mild winter here in Sacramento, it still gets a little chilly, and when it's cold, nothing warms the kitchen better with baking bread. From the blog Lauren's Latest. 1 cup warm water. 1/4 cup 1 teaspoon sugar.
Things We Ate: March 2011
http://thingsweate.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Our attempt at losing weight, saving money, and eating ethically without sacrificing flavor. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. We were out at the grocery store and talking about what to have for dinner on Sunday, when Liz said "rice bowls! Then we walked by the quinoa, and, before I could contribute to the discussion, she said "no, quinoa bowls! I have some quinoa that needs to be eaten. Also it is fun to say the word quinoa. But you already knew that. 3-4 scallions, sliced thinly. 1 red bell pepper, diced. And s...

http://thingsweate.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Our attempt at losing weight, saving money, and eating ethically without sacrificing flavor. Thursday, June 23, 2011. There's something really romantic about baking your own bread. I love fresh bread, so now that I'm getting more comfortable in the kitchen, I decided to start baking my own. Seemed like a good place to start. 1 tsp coleman's yellow mustard. 6 oz seitan o' greatness. Three slices of tomato. Two leaves of lettuce. Monday, June 20, 2011. Polenta with Rustic Tomato Sauce and Roasted Asparagus.

Keep on doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up. [Galatians 6:9]. Thursday, February 2, 2012. This whole PCOS thing has been a roller coaster. On top of that, I realized that I'v...

Things We Almost Bought
Things We Almost Bought. You know you want it. but you can't have it. Friday, October 9, 2009. I'll admit it, I often find myself tempted. I spend a lot of time online. From catching up with the blogs in my reader (which lately include a barrage of wedding blogs that are annoyingly addicting), to other finds from friends sites to facebook, I really do always have something new to peruse. Here is what has been catching my eye lately - (click at your own risk, spending temptations ahead! I love to check ou...
