I had been making and with the local Ball coming up I thought I would donate a couple of weavings, it felt good to give two pieces I had made, for the raffle and know two new owners would get a hand made created in enjoyment, using local wool yarns. The above has been won by my friend which was funny result, but a very happy person.

Experimenting with ideas in textiles, glass fusing, experimental pieces and thinking, aiming to be alternative in my creating. Sunday, April 14, 2013. Time passing - when to make Again. It has been a hectic time that is too much to explain. But I have finally got four warps partly on two looms. By this I mean I have wound four warps beamed them but only one is threaded and I have yesterday started weaving. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Peggy Osterkamp's Weaving Blog. Julie Bowyer Handwoven Textiles: P2P2 - In Progress

http://juliebowyerhandwoventextiles.blogspot.com/2011/08/p2p2-in-progress.html

Monday, 29 August 2011. P2P2 - In Progress. I made several yarn wraps yesterday and have decided on making a warp similar to the wrapping below. I may reduce the width of the turquoise to get the proportion a little better. Bullfrog with yarn wraping. This section is my focus as the whole image has such a lot of green. My initial thought was to weave a double cloth but I have changed my mind. My multi-shaft loom is occupied with another warp so I have decided to scale down to just eight shafts.

sampling: Small Piece exhibtion: Amy O'Brien

http://sampling-sampling.blogspot.com/2013/07/small-piece-exhibtion-amy-obrien.html

Mostly about weaving, a bit about this and that. Monday, July 1, 2013. Small Piece exhibtion: Amy O'Brien. From New Zealand has organised a virtual 'Small Piece' exhibition and I am hosting Amy's woven piece on my blog. Amy is 10 years old and this is only her third time weaving at a loom. Amy wove on a Saori loom, 2 shaft with a pre-threaded black cotton warp. She brought all the weft yarn with her from home. She wove this last Saturday and it took her about 3 hours. By Amy O’Brien". Mostly about weaving, a bit about this and that. Sunday, August 4, 2013. Such a lot can change in a week. A bit of sunshine midweek, a bit/lots of chocolate ( cupcakes. A bit of encouragement from friends, a bit of perseverance, and ignoring dishes, laundry and housework in general, I got the warp onto the loom. This is the widest I have woven on the table loom, almost the full width. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). All things I make with that long thin line. View my complete profile. Likewise, if I have ref...

sampling: March 2013

http://sampling-sampling.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Mostly about weaving, a bit about this and that. Saturday, March 16, 2013. It has been hard to focus this year but craft camp at the end of February restored some faith and inspiration. It has taken nearly another month for me to get my act together and finally got a warp on the loom. It makes me feel restless when my looms are empty, without warps. It makes me feel like I am neglecting them. Do they have feelings? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). All things I make with that long thin line.

Where we send a small envelope of weaving-related items that mean something to ourselves and/or may inspire the receiver. I sent my envelop to Donni of loomandarty. From Utah in the United States. On Skype through Sooz. I love the three-dimensional aspect of the structure and the simplicity of the design. There was also the folded shibori/origami pattern that I came across at the workshop with Yoshiko Wada. Hat's more, it also reminded me of the 2-dimensional woven pattern that we saw at the. I am a designer maker/tutor living and working in the South West England. Please Labour, ditch the name calling and get organised. May 19, 2015. What is in a name? The heart of New Labour (Source: The Guardian). But, crucially, by May 2010 the Tories had finally stopped talking about Maggie. David Cameron’s election campaign that year was fraught, messy and ultimately indecisive, but he had succeeded in turning his party about face. The Conservatives, by the large, had their cheeks turned towards the future and not the past when the nation went to the polls. April 24, 2015.
