Notes from a curious man …. Posed question brief thoughts image. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. 8220;Moments in Japan” series. Why aren’t old children’s books on library shelves? July 22, 2014. When my family visited Woods Hole Public Library we were surprised to find raggedy but readable books in the children’s section. We could peruse books that we read long ago but are no longer available, and enjoy their illustrations. Why are scenes of great depth so calming? October 10, 2013.

October 10, 2013. This McClure’s beach scene has a nice depth, and its beautiful light certainly helps produce a relaxing feeling. My first unpaid job in Silicon Valley (1956). July 30, 2016. Fixing that gave me an excellent visual tool for years to monitor my other circuit projects. Finally it blew out its main transformer and truly died. What fun it had been. Several years later I would return to HP, working as a paid research assistant in the development lab with my own assigned project, exploring the just-invented light-sensitive diode. Exciting! July 18, 2016. July 18, 2016. The California drought has focused our attention on t...

this bewitching life | Figuring all this out as I go along.

Figuring all this out as I go along. January 14, 2013. I am by no means a morning person. Any effort to make or put food in my mouth before 10:00 AM is far too much effort. My plan is to make easy, healthy breakfast foods that can be consumed with little effort and prepared ahead of time so that I have no reason to not eat in the morning. First up, is refrigerator oatmeal. There are a million recipes for this online, and here is mine. 1 TBS Chia Seeds. 1/2 cup milk of your choice. 1 TBS chopped nuts.
