To me believing the earth is only thousands of years old is equivalent to believing the earth does not revolve around the sun. The scientific evidence suggesting the earth is billions of years old is overwhelmingly convincing, as is the scientific evidence that the earth rotates the sun. But that is ridiculous! They say. "Do you not believe the bible to be true? Well clearly you have taken those verses out of context," they reply.

That is the best way I can describe it. I was told in my thoughts to go to the mail box. It was midnight. I was tired and in bed. This shot me awake.
