Back to Stories from the Heat: December 2006

http://thoughtsfromtheheat.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

Back to Stories from the Heat. So much to write, so little time to write it. Posted by Heather at 16.12.06. I've been meaning to write for the past few weeks, but when I thought of something clever to write I wasn't in a place where I could write it. Then when I was, I either didn't have time or couldn't remember it. So, here I am again playing catch up in list form:. I recently won a prize from the Design Mom. Give Away A Day. It is so exciting to win things sometimes! Especially the lovely Nina Handbag.

Back to Stories from the Heat. Posted by Heather at 29.11.06. Last night I made sweet crepes for dinner and they were soo good! We gobbled them up. We like to make a sweet lemon, butter syrup and I also like butter and cinnamon and sugar on them. I really want some more now. My family makes crepes for birthdays and easters, and I love them. But these sweet crepes were the best crepes ever. 3 T melted butter. 2 1/2 T. Sugar. 1 t vanilla extract. Today was my first day of my 10-day teaching experience at T...

Back to Stories from the Heat. Posted by Heather at 15.8.07. I think you become an official blogger once you get "tagged" is that right? Well, if it is I guess the past three years of blogging don't count. 1 What is the best thing you cooked last week? Our new home has a nice big porch (I mean big for a condo). So Matt got out our mini charcoal grill, and I made us barbecued chicken with corn and a green salad. I homemade the BBQ sauce and it was totally killer, and the chicken was still juicy! We're ali...

Back to Stories from the Heat. Posted by Heather at 27.6.07. In no particular order. 1 My new maternity jeans. The cutest jeans I have ever owned. Cute tush and comfy belly. 2 My Mattie. He's doing such a good job being a daddy, except he laughs at my belly button being a half in-y and a half out-y. 3 Cruiser bikes. I love these bikes at Trek.com. The prices aren't too bad. Posted by Heather at 10.6.07. If I start saving up now, I know I could take my family on a vacation here when it opens. With the bab...

Back to Stories from the Heat. Posted by Heather at 8.10.07. Anyway, we want to say thanks to all of our friends and family for your support. It has been tough not being able to take him home. He sure is a cutie though. I'll post pictures next time. I'm writing from the hospital, and I'm not sure how to get pictures on here without saving them to the computer. I'm so glad things are going well with Ezra! It's amazing how much I already love him. I haven't even met him yet! Heather I am so excited for you!

We bought it and it came in the mail yesterday! I’ve taken Ezra on a few trips around our house, and today he fell asleep in it. He looks small in this picture compared to the stroller, but he is getting huge! I am having so much fun staying home with him! December 3, 2007. Our elf family: Merry Christmas! Page 25 of 25.

For all your Schaffer Family needs…. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. May 6, 2011. Every year since Matt and I got married we have gone to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point, except last year because it was still snowing and Gracie was only 3 months old. We got to go this year, and it was finally a beautiful, sunny day. So, here are some pictures from that outing. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Last year in a nutshell. For all your Schaffer Family needs…. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Happy Birthday Gracie Girl. February 21, 2011. As you all know, Gracie turned one on February 2nd. We had a birthday party to celebrate on February 12th. Gracie being a girl meant I could do a Valentine’s day theme for her party. It was super fun to plan, and Matt said multiple times I went way overboard. Oh well! I had a blast, and I think it turned out great! How do you like that goofy smile and her crazy ponytail?

For all your Schaffer Family needs…. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. March 16, 2011. My friend Maegan asked me about how I made Gracie’s strawberry lemonade cupcakes, so I figured I would just post the recipe up here. This actually isn’t much of a recipe, but it does make for some super moist and flavorful cupcakes. Also, the cupcakes come from a box plus some extra ingredients, so if that turns you off sorry about that. 1 lemon zested and juiced. 1/2 C yogurt or sour cream. 1 Melt ma...

Thoughts from the Gulf Coast, a Hurricane Katrina Blog. Tuesday, August 29, 2006. One year after Katrina. My heart goes out to the people of New Orleans. Thoughts From The Head

Monday, 4 January 2010. Ground Zero, A Tourist Attraction? A friend sent me a clip of a video link for "God on Trial". The clip is a dramatised dialogue between between Jewish prisoners during WWII at Auschwitz. This is what the brief description on YouTube says about the clip. Is the clip of the video, I am not embedding it because it doesn't really have anything to do with this entry, except to explain my train of thought. It is still worth the watch. I remember being touched by this entry. Briefly, it...

Thoughts from the Hearth

Friday, July 31, 2015. My big kids are set to start seminary NEXT WEEK, so I have been in the throes of planning our homeschool this week. (Just at a more frenzied pace than I have already been all summer.). A friend on Facebook asked how everyone was doing with planning their homeschool this year, and I decided to share my tips here, as well as on her post. 3) Keep the end goal/the BIG picture in mind when planning, and let go of those topics your kids don't actually need this year. 8) Go to the temple ...
