Three Months in London: July 2009

Three Months in London. My adventures in London (and beyond! With Houghton's First-Year Honors Program. Friday, July 31, 2009. Two cities of Scotland. We left Ireland bright and early Saturday morning and made it to Glasgow- Prestwick. Our stop was Hillhead. And, true to the name, we had to walk up a steep hill to get to our hostel. But we finally made it, and I went to sleep as soon as I could. Lord of the Rings. We climbed higher- as in Howth, it was sometimes literal climbing- until we reached somethi...

Three Months in London: Hostile Hostels

Three Months in London. My adventures in London (and beyond! With Houghton's First-Year Honors Program. Sunday, June 14, 2009. Apparently the French ladies had taken a taxi, and the driver had accused them of not paying. The policeman wanted the money, but one of the women insisted she'd already paid, and both said they had no more money. The policeman argued with them, saying at one point, "You're bothering all these other people! June 23, 2009 at 10:54 AM. July 2, 2009 at 10:52 AM.

Three Months in London: Howth, Ireland

http://www.threemonthsinlondon.blogspot.com/2009/05/howth-ireland.html

Three Months in London. My adventures in London (and beyond! With Houghton's First-Year Honors Program. Sunday, May 31, 2009. So the first place we went after London was Ireland. We flew into Dublin and stayed there for two nights. On our first full day we just walked around, seeing the sights, browsing in bookstores and tourist shops, relaxing in a park. Then we went to Kilkenny. Http:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howth. Enough, and it kept sloshing out of the cup as we walked, so it didn't really help that m...

Three Months in London. My adventures in London (and beyond! With Houghton's First-Year Honors Program. Sunday, February 22, 2009. Here's a link to my friend Dan's blog; he posts a lot more often and in much more detail than I do. Of course it's mainly about him and is meant for his family and friends back home, but he gives good descriptions of stuff we've done. If you come across anything offensive (and if you do it will only be mildly so), I apologize- he's Dan. Here it is:. Three of us were in the ve...

Broken Boy Soldier: March 2009

http://houghton26.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Where The Wild Things Are. And the clips in the trailer are beautifully arranged. They make sense, as opposed to other trailers that have a bunch of cool scenes just thrown together. I especially like the sequence of Max running away from the camera, and him playing with the ship followed by the clip of him in the real ship. It all worked well with the music, which was almost as good as the trailer itself. I still love the new version of "Wake Up" and the suspenseful opening.

Broken Boy Soldier: Dirty Old Town

http://houghton26.blogspot.com/2009/04/dirty-old-town.html

Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Right now, I'm at our hostel in Dublin. It turns out we have internet after all. It's really slow and not all the sites work, but I can email home, which is nice. And I can post! Today we checked out the city. I already like it better than London. Everything is more open, giving the city a less claustrophobic feel than London. The buildings are older looking too. There are more bars than I've ever seen in my life. It's nuts! Things, so it's all good. Dublin is an awesome city...

Broken Boy Soldier: April 2009

Tuesday, April 28, 2009. And it all gets better when life is straight". That's not what I was looking for! They matter to me. But they matter too much to me. I can't seperate myself from them. I don't have an identity other than them. And parts of this might sound dramatic or not like me, but that's the point! And you didn't come with me! You didn't do London, either. So I had all this time away from you guys, and now I have to come back to you guys, and what then? What do I do? What do WE do? On the bus...

Broken Boy Soldier: In the Hands of God

http://houghton26.blogspot.com/2009/05/in-hands-of-god.html

Thursday, May 7, 2009. In the Hands of God. 8220;This is Your Life”: Jeff Frankenstein really shines on this one. Since Phil Joel left, he’s played synth bass as well as keyboard, and he’s great on both here. That’s the best thing about the song, really. The lyrics are ok, but not as creative or deep as I’ve heard the band get. Personally, I prefer Switchfoot’s song by the same name. Sounds really good- I'm sure I'll be getting it soon. :). Broken Boy Soldier: February 2009

http://houghton26.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 28, 2009. Cambridge, Behemoth Papers, and Free Burritos. Yesterday, we took a day trip to Cambridge. We took a train from King's Cross (finally! And travelled through the countryside. There were long fields and hills and we passed little villages with clusters of buildings. It was just what I needed. I listened to the soundtracks to the Harry Potter movies on the way there. This week's paper has been very hard for several reasons:. We had 2 weeks worth of material to put into this paper.

Broken Boy Soldier: "And it all gets better when life is straight"

http://houghton26.blogspot.com/2009/04/and-it-all-gets-better-when-life-is.html

Tuesday, April 28, 2009. And it all gets better when life is straight". I'm in a weird mood. I'm uncomfortable, jittery, wired. My mind is going 200 mph. Overdrive. "Herculean", The Good, the Bad, and the Queen. That's not what I was looking for! It's all too much. My mind is too full. I don't know what to do. I can't hide in my childhood because it's gone, and that's good, but it's still there, clogging my mind like cholestrol. I can't move on, grow up, start over, because there's no room for a ...They ...

Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Colloquy, Confessions, Codex, Cross. Today has been a really good one, and it's not even 5:30 yet! Before. So that's where I went after Adam and I parted ways. And oh my God, it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen! I went all the way back to the platforms, right next to the actual trains! I could've gotten in one if I wanted to! The station was massive and loud and busy, and whistles were going off and it was just nuts! Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Rachel wasn't going ...

Thursday, August 20, 2009. Http:/ dan26.vox.com/. I would like to burn a theme at this forum. There is such a thing, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of financial piramyde, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits. For several years , I make money with the help of these programs. Http:/ theinvestblog.com Online Investment Blog. January 21, 2010 at 9:00 AM.

Thursday, December 18, 2008. Hello It's me. Sorry I've sucked at posting lately, but it's the end of the semester and things have been really busy with classes wrapping up, more london meetings, last minute homeworks, papers, exams, packing, saying goodbye to friends.it's all kind of crazy right now. Let's see, what else? It was so cool. It got off to a slow start until we went a few times and packed down the snow and made a good path. Then we went flying! We actually have those, btw), but I will be keep...

Three months in Iraq. An account of my three months living in the International Zone in Baghdad, Iraq. Saturday, October 14, 2006. The Lay of the Land. First off, let me apologize to all for the abject lack of blogging since I got here. The fault is my own, a combination of trying to juggle an enormous number of commitments and of being rendered almost unable to describe the things I've seen and experienced in the last month. Three Months In Moresby. A 90 day mission to PNG. December 1, 2010. Nearly three months ago, I began this blog as a way of keeping in touch with people while I have been away. It was also a bit of a test for me, a way of seeing what it takes to produce a blog. And now, after over 10,000 words and more than 90 images in 40 posts, it’s over. Well, almost. This is my last night in Haus 41. Then tomorrow I am in the hotel. I fly out Friday, just in time for a mad weekend in Canberra. What you don’t see in th...

Three Months in Palestine

Three Months in Palestine. Thursday, December 15, 2005. I'm leaving Palestine on Saturday to return to America. The other day, I met for the last time with a group of high school senior girls from the village of Kharbatha Beni Hareth. The last class, they surprised me with a "lunch," which was more like a feast. They each brought a dish: maqlouba, mousakhen, pizza, salad . Will you remember us in five years, one of them asked me. Yes, I promised. I will. Posted by Bob at 6:16 AM. Posted by Bob at 5:56 AM.
