Group 14a Thriller

Wednesday, 1 July 2009. Tuesday, 31 March 2009. Thriller Media Project Evaluation. Our task was to make an opening sequence to a thriller film; we had to secure the interest of the audience in this opening 2 minutes so we made sure to include a variety of interesting and experimental shots to grab the attention of the audience. Our Group having these shots in our opening sequence meant that we could achieve a higher grade whilst creating a sequence that is interesting to watch. . Tuesday, 24 March 2009.

Thursday, 18 December 2008. The other clips that we were going to look at were '28 Days Later','The Shining', and 'What Lies Beneath' however, like I had said, we sadly didnt have enough time to. Monday, 15 December 2008. What I’ve learnt from the practise filming session. We managed to create suspense throughout makin...

Monday, 29 June 2009. Friday, 27 March 2009. Letter Used as Prop. Monday, 23 March 2009. There are many different sub-genres of Thriller movies however they all use different techniques and aspects of filming to create the main convention of a thrilling movie; suspense. Lighting, sound, editing, location and setting are used to create suspense within a Thriller movie. To give us an insight into Thriller films and what makes a good Thriller we studied the psychological thriller. Directed by Stanley Kubrick.

Monday, 29 June 2009. Friday, 27 March 2009. Representation of woman in our thriller film is represented through Lora’s character, she. Shows a conventional view of a woman who is trying to gets revenge on a men who has cheated on her ,she kills them in the most strange and horrific way. Her violent and vicious approach to Elliot’s character is shown through different camera angles. My main character is also a. Very possessed and troubled person that is trying to kill someone. We also use. A small UK rel...

Monday, 29 June 2009. Friday, 27 March 2009. Susuana - AS Media Studies Coursework Evaluation. 8220;Premonition” uses conventions of a thriller opening because part of it is tracking main the character, it goes further by confusing with other shots which then confuse the audience of what they should be looking out for. The films were uploaded to Vimeo there anyone could watch it on the internet, which widens are potential audience because it can now be seen worldwide. From the practice tasks, I learned t...

Group 13 Thriller

Monday, 29 June 2009. Friday, 27 March 2009. The brief of the thriller production that we had to meet was to create a two minutes opening to a thriller and include titles. Our thriller opening is consistent with the thriller horror sub-genre as we followed a traditional path of storylines where a vulnerable girl plays the main character and something bad happens to her. Whether it is at the begging middle or end of the film the whole story will be about what happens to her. Our audience is most likely to...

Wednesday, 24 June 2009. In my magazine, the black colour is domineering because it is the most popular colour in rock social group therefore I thought that this colour will successfully represent the social group that I have chosen. As my magazine is mainly targeted at young audience, the best place to distribute the magazine is of course college or school. I think that the company that might distribute my magazine would be a small independent distribution company such as Campus Connect Inc. This is the...

On the whole we all worked well together and helped one another out and I now have a insight into what filming is about and how uneasy it can be at times and also how much hard work is put in by the directors and producers not only the ’stars’ and main characters of the film but behind the scenes. Sunday, 29 March 2009. As research we the film ‘The Shining’. This is a very famous thriller which uses shots to portray its genre. I learnt that to have a successful thriller you have to have a lot of long shots. This is to not only show the mise-en-scene but so you can capture what is going on behind the character on screen. This definitely creates a tense, Nail biting feeling. Friday, 27 March 2009. Thursday, 26 March 2009. Tuesday, 24 March 2009. So today we started editing - i'd used final cut pro b...

Monday, 29 June 2009. Tuesday, 24 March 2009. I forgot to add this peice of information to my evaluation and did not want to edit the blog today in fear of loosing marks, so i thought my best option was to post it as a seperate blog. We went to the cinema 'Vue' located in Angel, Islington's N1 Centre. It was ironic as people who were our target market for our thriller were the most likely people to visit this type of cinema, rather than independent cinema's that mainly focus on showing British made movies.
