Group 2 Thriller

Monday, 29 June 2009. Tuesday, 24 March 2009. I forgot to add this peice of information to my evaluation and did not want to edit the blog today in fear of loosing marks, so i thought my best option was to post it as a seperate blog. We went to the cinema 'Vue' located in Angel, Islington's N1 Centre. It was ironic as people who were our target market for our thriller were the most likely people to visit this type of cinema, rather than independent cinema's that mainly focus on showing British made movies.

Group 2 Thriller: Thriller Evaluation

http://www.thriller08group2.blogspot.com/2009/03/thriller-evaluation_23.html

Monday, 23 March 2009. I think that my media product could attract any type social groups, ages ranging from 16 to late twenties, however, people older than that may also find it interesting to watch. I personally believe that my thriller would be released over the internet and after having thousands of views it would be recognised by media institution giant like Universal Pictures. If I were to describe the main type of audience which my thriller would attract it would be;. George aged between 17-19.

Wednesday, 31 December 2008. Analysing four thriller clips. In our lesson (Thursday 18th December 2008) we done a brainstorm on different types of thriller genres e.g. supernatural (sixth sense), psychological thriller (the shining) , murderous passion (what lies beneath), spy/action (bond films) etc. the brain storm helped us with the next part of our lesson. And helped us to identify the different representations of a thriller film. Sunday, 28 December 2008. Let 'Em Play God, Alfred Hitchcock. As Sir A...

http://www.thriller08group2.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, 28 February 2009. Final Day, The Deadline Rush! During the final day (Friday 27th February 2009) their was chaos as everybody was in a rush to get their thrillers finished and in prestige condition. I had come in early in the morning to get our group a computer to work on as I knew their would be a lot of people doing the same thing. After we had finished we saved the file as all of our names with ‘final edit’ at the end and then informed Sevin as she had a lesson that we had finish...Sevin got...

Your coursework is split into two parts. Firstly there is a preliminary exercise; a continuity task involving filming and editing a character engaged in some basic 'Thrilling' action. This task should demonstrate match on action,shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule. The main task: the titles and opening of a new Thriller fiction film, to last a maximum of two minutes. Wednesday, 1 July 2009. Tuesday, 31 March 2009. Thriller Media Project Evaluation. Our task was to make an opening sequence to a thriller film; we had to secure the interest of the audience in this opening 2 minutes so we made sure to include a variety of interesting and experimental shots to grab the attention of the audience. Our Group having these shots in our opening sequence meant that we could achieve a higher grade whilst creating a sequence that is interesting to watch. . Tuesday, 24 March 2009.

Wednesday, 24 June 2009. In my magazine, the black colour is domineering because it is the most popular colour in rock social group therefore I thought that this colour will successfully represent the social group that I have chosen. As my magazine is mainly targeted at young audience, the best place to distribute the magazine is of course college or school. I think that the company that might distribute my magazine would be a small independent distribution company such as Campus Connect Inc. This is the...

Sunday, 29 March 2009. As research we the film ‘The Shining’. This is a very famous thriller which uses shots to portray its genre. I learnt that to have a successful thriller you have to have a lot of long shots. This is to not only show the mise-en-scene but so you can capture what is going on behind the character on screen. This definitely creates a tense, Nail biting feeling. Friday, 27 March 2009. Thursday, 26 March 2009. Tuesday, 24 March 2009. So today we started editing - i'd used final cut pro b...

Sunday, 5 April 2009. In the opening of Se7en they edited it really well using creepy writing and used extreme-close-ups on the person’s hands well also because you don’t ever see the persons face which makes it freakier. In our thriller we used techniques from the films we watched:. The famous picture from the 1980s film psycho. Our thriller’s knife shot. I think if our opening was a complete film it would be released by film4 because as they promote English/ UK films and we are based in the UK. Due to ...

Group 36 Thriller

Tuesday, 31 March 2009. As we were instructed to create an opening to a thriller movie using specific devices and techniques from conventional thriller films, our group took influence from a few well known thriller films. We first created a digital story board and a ‘dry run’ of our initial ideas for our thriller ‘DeathWalk’ and views on how we want the finished product to look. The final look of the main character looked similar to The Ring (2002):. The sound in our final piece was also similar to ...

In my media product I feel we stuck to real life media conventions for example the 180 degree rule, match cuts and shot reverse shot. We especially paid attention to these 3 rules because if we didn’t we realised our whole thing would go wrong and wouldn’t be understood. 8220;The watching” which helped immensely. Monday, 29 June 2009. Monday, 23 March 2009. The Lady Killer Evaluation! While planning this thriller, our intentions were for the audience to acknowledge and identify me, as the main character. We did this by revealing my face at the end, showing who I am and what I was doing. The person we wanted the audience to identify the most was me, the killer. We did this by showing Nicole's face/description right at the end as she killed Tony and walked away. Without the internet , I don’t see how we could...
