A place for funky sock monkeys to stay in touch. January 19, 2009. Kate’s letting me borrow her computer, so I thought I’d post a few pictures showing what I’ve been up to since I moved here! First I went out to Maryland, where I got to see a little bit of fall. While out there, I got to go to a wedding! Next I went on a wine tasting trip to celebrate Kate’s birthday. Luckily we had plenty of snacks to go with all that wine! I took a little road trip with my friends. For a big monkey get together!

A place for funky sock monkeys to stay in touch. January 25, 2009. I’m so sorry I’ve been so bad about blogging! My excuse is that I’ve joined Facebook… and I’ve been spending most of my online time making new friends, uploading photos, and writing on people’s walls there. Are you on Facebook? If you are, I’d love to be your friend! But I didn’t want to neglect the blog completely, so here are a bunch of pictures that highlight my last few months. 8230;met some famous monkeys:. 8230;smelled some roses:.

A place for funky sock monkeys to stay in touch. Laquo; Roberta loves to eat. My first night in my new home. This is Constance, I went home today to my new home with Vanessa and Brian. I miss Teresa, Seymour and all my monkey friends terribly but I am settling in here. I have made some new friends, though they are a little stiff and not as animated as I am. Vanessa is making a truly eeeeenormous sweater. I don’t think I will ever grow enough for it to fit me. There is lots to study here.

A place for funky sock monkeys to stay in touch. See You Later, Vernon. October 16, 2008 by. Last week I helped Teresa make a good-bye card for our friend Rob, who is taking Vernon across the country to live in New Jersey. Here are a few of the shots:. And this is the haiku I wrote for the occasion:. It’s so hard to say. Bye rob beth maggie vernon. So see you later. Teresa received this update from Vernon in an email last night:. I’m glad that Vernon is having fun! October 7, 2008 by. I wrote a haiku to ...

We took the Metro in from our hotel in Silver Spring and got off at the Smithsonian stop. This takes you right up to the National Mall, directly in between the Congress building and the Washington Monument. It kind of takes your breath away. There's the Washington Monument! David touching the stone of the giant obelisk. The Monument, seen from the World War II Monument fountains.

Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Wednesday, November 26, 2008. November 20 was a rainy and sunny day with lots of rainbows. I saw this in the morning, driving across Farmington Road. That afternoon, a double rainbow over the OES playground. It stretched across the entire sky. On November 17, I arrived at school and opened my car door to find this huge. Bonzo by my car door. Do you have any treats for me? But none so fat as Bonzo. The Masters program begins.

Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Monday, January 26, 2009. January 9th. Early signs of spring. Flowering shrubs next to our bedroom window. On January 5, Roberta and I had ramen at Hakatamon. It was good, but I think I like the noodle style better at Teriyaki Bowl. These noodles were a little on the light side. On January 4th, David and I decided to walk the Rock Creek Trail. We'll have to return in the summer and see what this marshy area looks like then.

Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. My parents came by to pick Sara up. When they left, it started snowing again, so they stopped for some photos. I took these out of our window. Sara taking a picture of me taking a picture, Dad wanting to go home, and Mom trying to catch snowflakes on her tongue. Meeting Sara at MAX. The short walk was treacherous. And there she is, with only a backpack, and without a hat, of course! More shapes, ma...

Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Tuesday, May 19, 2009. March 23. The Lincoln Memorial was our first destination in DC. It has to be. After all, isn't this where Jimmy Stewart goes straight to in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington? It's definitely a place he returns to. The Memorial is crowded, of course, but also peaceful. We had both cameras going on this trip. Larger than life and twice as natural. I thought this was an interesting image. DC: Stopover in Chicago.
