Mountain Memories: February 2015

Friday, February 27, 2015. Going for a Walk. The best antidote for a severe case of cabin fever is to head outside. The weather has been unseasonably warm here and our snow fled in record time. It all added up to a perfect opportunity to go for a walk! The lake still had it's layer of ice but that was about the only hint it was still winter. The sun felt lovely, even if the shade was still a touch chilly. Trooping through the woods. To a sunny beach. Where the rocks proved irresistible! Somewhere I'm sur...

Thompson's: Remembering Grandma
http://aaronandcass.blogspot.com/2012/05/remembering-grandma.html
Monday, May 28, 2012. She was the most gentle person I’ve ever met. You’d think eleven kids would have made her crazy but it seemed to have done the opposite to her. She was serene in all the chaos of 48 grandchildren and over 80 great-grandchildren. It was always said that she’d have loved most for her children and grandchildren to be doing what was right more than anything. It’s a huge responsibility to try to live up to, to try to uphold the morals and standards she believed so much in. This month mar...

A House Full Of Boys: A week in New York
http://ahousefullofboys-sheila.blogspot.com/2012/01/week-in-new-york.html
A House Full Of Boys. Sheila, Cayden, Bryce, David and Dylan. Saturday, January 7, 2012. A week in New York. We traveled to the Buffalo, New York area this year for the week of Christmas to be with Dave's family. Unfortunately, they were having an unusually warm winter and there was no snow! The boys were pretty disappointed, but we did get to bring them to try a few different things since there was no snow. Dave and I are standing in front on the falls where he proposed to me! A House Full Of Boys: March 2011
http://ahousefullofboys-sheila.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
A House Full Of Boys. Sheila, Cayden, Bryce, David and Dylan. Wednesday, March 30, 2011. We enjoyed a day near Fredericksburg at Enchanted Rock on the boys Spring Break. The boys enjoyed climbing the Texas 'mountain'! Daddy rolls his eyes at that comment, because he knows what climbing a mountain is all about! There was about an hour wait to get into the park, so the boys and I walked up to the entrance and took some pictures! Family shot- and yes, it was very windy up there. thus, the wild hair! My most...

It has been said that adoption is more like a marriage than a birth: two (or more) individuals, each with their own unique mix of needs, patterns, and genetic history, coming together with love, hope, and commitment for a joint future.
