Friday, November 1, 2013. Mary and I checked out the new penguin exhibit at the zoo after it had been open a couple days. It is amazing. We can watch them underwater. There are LCD screens showing a live view of the penguins from up above. One area for the Humbolt penguins is outside. There is a coral aquarium with several different colorful fish. Friday, April 11, 2014. Wednesday we went on one of the trails at Burr Oak woods. It was the Bethany Falls trail, but we will probably call it the woodpecker trail because of all the woodpeckers we saw on it this time. We saw three different kinds. Sunday, April 17, 2011. Here are some pictures of what is blooming now and birds the one in the dirt is a chirping sparrow i think. Been spending a lot. Of time outside watching the birds to see where they nest we have a robin in one of our nest boxes, our neighbors have cardinal's. Nesting in one of their bushes , and of coarse. There are sparrows everywhere they really like the clothes. Line pole and i saw some swallowtails in one of our neighbors bird house but i havn't seen them for a while.

Thursday, August 22, 2013. Powell Gardens and Lego Sculptures. These sculptures are huge and fun to look at. We really enjoyed our walk here. Dad is supervising Mary at work. Fun in a treehouse. Gorgeous waterlilies at this time of year. Such beautiful colors too. Mary's favorite is this sculpture of the goldfinches. We found pretty butterflies. I found a hummingbird moth. I think this with the fox and rabbit is Elizabeth's favorite. I chased this zebra swallowtail around and finally got some pictures.

Sunday, July 24, 2011. 4th of July 2011. Grandmas first couple days were filled with walks and trips to the splash park where there were toys to climb on and water to play in. Time to relax in the shade out on the back porch. Play in the backyard pool. Take a nap on the side of the pool. Then Grandpa came and Brock got out his list of chores of things that needed fixing. Of course some of the chores included playimg "horse" until Grandpa's knees got all worn out - so then we played "cars". Sister and Bro...

Sunday, September 20, 2009. Katie - 14 September 2009, 8 lbs, 20 " She looks kinda like a football in this picture:). Parents - Ben and Misty. I (Gayle) spent 3 days at their house while Misty was in the hospital and Ben was staying with her.
