to make a day: Thursday afternoon
http://tomakeaday.blogspot.com/2013/04/thursday-afternoon.html
To make a day. Chronicling my attempts to make something (new) each day. Thursday, April 25, 2013. With a few everyday projects on the go - draining yogurt for yogurt cream (an easy alternative to marscapone), a new bread recipe rising, leftover blown eggs from Easter drying, while felted sweaters are shrinking down further in the washing machine for a new batch of floor baskets. The lanolin smell of wet wool masked by baking bread. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

To make a day. Chronicling my attempts to make something (new) each day. Sunday, April 14, 2013. So the red rug turned out to be "beaten too hard" (just getting used to hula hoop tension) and it popped off the loom like a fibre basket unstead. but the kids.and the cats it seems.are happy that it works well as a cat bed. to make a day: Lacework
http://tomakeaday.blogspot.com/2013/04/lacework.html
To make a day. Chronicling my attempts to make something (new) each day. Tuesday, April 30, 2013. I tried (and retried many many times! Lace knitting. The pattern i was following had lovely chains of bay leaves but they got lost because of the multi-coloured handspun mohair i was using. It was good lacework practice but the end result is airy and textured but patternless. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. A place of intention: seeking humour, resonance and quiet beauty in daily life. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. You don't need a husband; you need a Greek chorus! There are days, indeed. Christopher Plummer as Tolstoy in The Last Station. Friday, January 21, 2011. I've been contemplating the notion of a 'word for the year', as mentioned by several friends and a few favourite blogs of late. I much prefer this idea to. And here I am, four years later, considering signing myself for a year of metaphoric pulp.

A place of intention: seeking humour, resonance and quiet beauty in daily life. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Little Brian and the wind. If nothing else, convalescing gives one a chance to revisit old favourites, and I found myself seeking out Who Has Seen the Wind by W.O. Mitchell. This time around, I was most struck by the freedom given the little ones; the freedom to wander and unearth their own. Teachable moments", to observe life and death in their natural world as it is. A place of intention: seeking humour, resonance and quiet beauty in daily life. Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Remembering our little red head. I thought I could not. Go any closer to grief. I went closer,. And I did not die. Has His hand in this,. As well as friends. Still, I was bent,. And my laughter,. As the poet said,. Was nowhere to be found. Then said my friend Daniel. Brave even among lions). It's not the weight. But how you carry it-. Books, bricks, grief-. When you cannot, and would not,.

A place of intention: seeking humour, resonance and quiet beauty in daily life. Friday, May 27, 2011. Whelck and lungs and such. I've just come from a hot tub in a steamy bathroom, drinking warm whiskey and honey, reading poetry, hoping to nudge the pneumonia from my lungs, and the unsteadiness from my mind that comes from looking too long at your life from the outside. Back in the steam, I read and read until I found that familiar yank back to the place where words open up the view. To discover a name,.

A place of intention: seeking humour, resonance and quiet beauty in daily life. Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Picture a dozen or so children under five happily shoving their hands into their party "loot" bags. Then imagine several perplexed faces around the same room, as Ziploc bags of potting soil are yanked from little green sacks. I still crack up when I think back on those torn expressions; part "this could. Be fun" and part "what the hell is dirt. Doing in my loot bag? And since then, I'm the one-eyed ...

A place of intention: seeking humour, resonance and quiet beauty in daily life. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Wade came to town. Two Sundays ago I made my way out to the hamlet of Eden Mills, and enjoyed a day of words at the town's annual Writers' Festival. I don't attend every year, but when I do, I find myself soaking up the limestone beauty, the fresh autumn air and the delight of unknown authors. Since the festival, I have begun reading The Clouded Leopard. Labels: Eden Mills Writers festival. Like t...
