Tomatoes Don't Grow On Trees

Tomatoes Don't Grow On Trees. Wednesday, August 4, 2010. August and everything after. Today's blog comes from Chevy Chase, MD, where I recently relocated and brought my garden along for the ride. In a two part journey, I carefully wedged tomatoes next to a toaster over alongside basil and in between sheets and towels, determined to shuttle this creation of mine (however masterful or disastrous it has been! Tomatoes Don't Grow On Trees: January 2010

http://www.tomatoesdontgrowontrees.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Tomatoes Don't Grow On Trees. Saturday, January 30, 2010. But There's Just Dry Lightning on the Horizon Line. Anyhow, if possible, I'd like to put $0 into this, and make $0 dollars in return. I see the whole transaction to be one of effort (what I put in) and edible and psychological rewards (what I take out). But then I got to thinking: is it really going to be possible to put no money into this? Depending on the plant, you can get going on these starts anywhere between a few weeks and a few months befo...

http://www.tomatoesdontgrowontrees.blogspot.com/2010/05/dont-give-me-bad-news-dont-want-none-of.html

Tomatoes Don't Grow On Trees. Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Don't give me bad news don't want none of your bad news today. Okay, So I know I said I wouldn't make this blog into anything political and would confine its contents to the experience I have with growing my own food. That experience is going great, and I even revived three tomato seedlings from near death today. Quite a satisfying experience. But! Tomatoes Don't Grow On Trees. Saturday, February 27, 2010. Who wants to be right as rain its better when something is wrong. How could this be? Over a month gone by, and not a speck of garden-to-be progress? Yes, it's been a quiet month on the garden front- partly as a result of the not so quiet month I've been keeping up with otherwise. But, some new and excellent developments have come through the pipelines, and for that reason, it's time to resume! Glad to be back in action, and hope you've got some a...

Tomatoes Don't Grow On Trees: from little things, big things grow!

http://www.tomatoesdontgrowontrees.blogspot.com/2010/05/from-little-things-big-things-grow.html

Tomatoes Don't Grow On Trees. Monday, May 31, 2010. From little things, big things grow! I am here to report that things are GREAT on the gardening front. Since my last real post on the status of things in my garden, the little pipsqueakers I had growing have flourished into wonderfully thriving plants. Never in my life did I think plants would be such a temptation, a plant store such a dangerous destination for my wallet. But there I was, wrestling fellow planters for the happiest looking lettuces, ...

I am writing from the dining room table of my new apartment. I have been in the apartment for 2 weeks now. One day less than that if you take into account the first night, when I was locked out of the house. A huge thanks goes to a gracious neighbor that allowed me to crash at her (cultural don’t) place that night. I wake up, press the snooze button on my travel al...

By hannanb on January 28, 2010. 1) While I love that eggs are placed directly in plastic shopping bags, I do miss milk cartons pouches just aren’t the same. 2) On Sankranthi, the national kite festival, I stood on my neighbors’ roof for about an hour trying and mostly failing to fly a kite. Even when she gets the kite in the air and passes me the string, I manage to get it stuck in a tree. By hannanb on January 13, 2010.

Skip to search - Accesskey = s. By hannanb on June 18, 2010. I have been thinking about these questions (or some version of them) ever since beginning work in Nagpur last November:. How does a sex negative environment impact HIV prevention, care, support and treatment programs? How can HIV programming be effective in such an environment? Surprised (that this was said at all; that it was said around. They knew I was in India to work for an HIV NGO and have done work in the field previously; and that the s...

My days were spent trying to form some semblance of a trail through a rock field by crushing and slowly moving these rocks. The work site, Mt Yale. At first, the comparison between trail work in the Rocky Mountains and my life in Nagpur seems almost silly other than the absolute necessity of a filtered water source, what could possibly be. About the two experiences? Of all the people.

On the board announcing platform numbers, I saw that my train was delayed to 1:20 am. I go to the Inquiries desk to ask why. After pushing my way to the front, the man behind the glass tells me that the train will be leaving late because it will arrive here late. Fair enough I suppose. Thoughts from Nagpur, India.
