Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure: August 2009
http://samaraandaaron.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure. Wednesday, August 26, 2009. This past weekend, I went moose hunting. I'm lucky to have made friends with Tonya and Rich. They've been instrumental in more than one of my authentic Alaska experiences: commercial fishing in Ekuk and now moose hunting on the Snake River. In preparation for my hunting trip, I packed a backpack full of old clothes and made sure I had soft-point bullet for my Mosin rifle. Then I went down to the N&N Market and bought my resident huntin...

Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure: March 2009
http://samaraandaaron.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure. Saturday, March 28, 2009. Natural Disaster and UPS. I recently made an order from drugstore.com and they decided to ship it using UPS instead of the Post Office. I want to show you where my package is and why it is still there. Friday, March 27, 2009. Monday, March 23, 2009. We've been negligent about blog posting again. Our apologies. We'll do this update chronologically. Problem was, as soon as it hit the windshield, it froze. I was involved in the grunt labor on a...

Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure: December 2009
http://samaraandaaron.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure. Sunday, December 27, 2009. Christmas was a pretty sedate affair at the Baker's Alaska compound. Here's a brief update in pictures. A few days before Christmas, Aaron decided to shave his beard. It had gotten pretty bushy. The "after" picture was a little blurry, but here's a picture of us on Christmas eve after we opened all our presents. Aaron is clean-shaven, and we're covered in a pile of goodies from our friends and relatives. Thanks everyone! It was a nice dinne...

Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure: New Orleans
http://samaraandaaron.blogspot.com/2009/11/new-orleans.html
Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure. Sunday, November 1, 2009. I recently went to New Orleans for a work related conference. I was fortunate enough to be able to spend a few days down there before my conference started. I got to meet up with one of my cousins that I hadn't seen in 15 or so years. And we had a few days to hang out and run around the French Quarter. The conference was good too, but who takes pictures of that? I learned a lot and it was a great experience. But the best part was visitin...

Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure: May in Alaska
http://samaraandaaron.blogspot.com/2010/05/may-in-alaska.html
Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure. Saturday, May 8, 2010. The updates are coming fewer and fewer. Sorry. That doesn't mean it's not still an adventure here in Alaska. How's the temperature where you are? Today it reached 70 degrees. And you know what it looked like outside? Yeah, that's snow still on the ground. In May. And it's all over the place. Oh, and I'm cat-sitting Atticus again for Anthony and Erin. Apparently he likes high places that he doesn't know how to get down from. Before We Grow Up.

Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure: April 2009
http://samaraandaaron.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure. Friday, April 24, 2009. There and back again by Ruby Burrows. At about 8pm we finally made it to the hotel, got some food (went back to Qdoba- more lunch burritos just incase) and went to bed. I found out that the 8am flight to DLG had been delayed for 2 hours this morning and as I am writing this, they are in a holding pattern above DLG. Will I get home? Sure Will it be today? Ruby Burrows is my Hobbit name in case you didn't know). Saturday, April 18, 2009. I had t...

Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure: More snow pictures
http://samaraandaaron.blogspot.com/2009/12/more-snow-pictures.html
Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure. Sunday, December 6, 2009. We haven't been updating the blog recently. Basically, what you're getting is more snow pictures. Check out our amazingly long icicles. Sometimes there's snow to clear off the car in the morning. Sometimes that requires a shovel and a beaver hat. This weekend the snow actually melted quite a bit because it was rainy and warm. Now our driveway is just a sheet of ice. I can't wait for more snow. December 7, 2009 at 11:20 AM. Before We Grow Up.

Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure: May 2009
http://samaraandaaron.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Samara and Aaron's Alaskan Adventure. Sunday, May 31, 2009. When is a 5-year adjustable rate mortgage a good idea? When is a 5-year adjustable rate mortgage a good idea? Little did we know. I did a dual-degree program and took 4 years to finish school, and then we went to Alaska for 2 years. So our mortgage rate is adjusting this year, and we're nowhere close to selling our house. Our rate is gonna go up like everyone fears, right? What can I say? Hooray for the economy being in the crapper! As you proba...
