Open Swimming | Transition Events

Swimming in open water can be a liberating experience and doesn’t require Olympian abilities. Access to unspoilt reservoirs is getting harder, but we still know a couple near our base in Moganshan. Please never swim alone or dive/jump into open water, as unknown depth and concealed objects (including concrete posts) are not your friends. For open swimming advice we reference the Outdoor Swimming Society (UK) website. And for finding places around the world to swim, we recommend the Wild Swim website.

For school visits we are inviting more locals to get involved, sharing their bamboo crafts, knowledge of farming and practical ‘hands-on’ skills. For each school litter picking event, the school donates to our ‘environmental education fund’ (Dec 2013 balance: 17,000RMB).
