Transplanted to Tennessee

Saturday, August 8, 2015. Leaving Alaska Summer 2015. It hardly seems possible that it is time to leave Alaska. We got some time off Saturday before the last teams came in. We drove out to Victory Bible Camp to look around. Anne knew a couple that worked at Victory several years ago. It is a beautiful setting. We are standing on the deck at the lodge. This is Victory Peak. We packed a lunch that day, so we sat beside the lake and ate it. It was so peaceful! Miriam, Jay (our director), Dana. Elizabeth lea...

Transplanted to Tennessee: April 2015

http://transplantedtotennessee.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 4, 2015. Life of Christ Drive Through. This weekend our church is doing a "Life of Christ" drive through. I was in one of the scenes last night, so drove back out today and drove through. I then walked it and took pictures. My pictures aren't the greatest, the sun was at the wrong angle, but you will get the idea. I thought they did a very good job. Is 7:14, 9:6-7, Is 11 and Is 53. Luke 1: 26-38; Matthew 1:18-25. No Room in the Inn. The Woman at the Well. Healing of the Crippled Man.

Transplanted to Tennessee: September 2014

http://transplantedtotennessee.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 7, 2014. We are home, sort of. We came home to Tennessee after almost 2 months in Alaska. It really felt good to be in our own bed albeit I had trouble getting used to Central time. Alaska is three hours earlier. We went over on Friday and took my Mom's walker, shower chair and transport chair to her. We did not stay over night. On Saturday Howard helped Larry and Zane finish up on his Eagle Scout project. He had made swings for a local park. Howard helped them hang the swings. We had a...

Transplanted to Tennessee: July 2014

http://transplantedtotennessee.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 26, 2014. This is our third week cooking here in Wasilla, this summer. I did not do a daily journal this week. This is the week our Parkway team were up here. It was great to see someone from home. Here they are with the shirts that they will wear to the park the night of their block party. The team arrived at different times on Sunday. We needed to get a few things from Fred Meyers. The only vehicle here, was the 1990 van called the "Moose"! It has a very unique glove box latch. Wednesday...

Transplanted to Tennessee: August 2014

http://transplantedtotennessee.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 23, 2014. Well yesterday we got to do something I've wanted to do ever since we've been coming up to Wasilla. We went to the Alaska State Fair. I've been interested in seeing some of the big vegetables. Most of the really big ones will be coming in later next week. But, we did get to see some. This rutabaga was 81.55 pounds. This head of cabbage was 102.4 pounds. This turnip was 22.75 pounds. Notice the normal size one in front of it. I had never heard of a flat head cabbage. My back had...

The Life and Times of a Transplanted Triathlete

The Life and Times of a Transplanted Triathlete. Monday, July 6, 2015. Back in the Saddle. The last few months have been a blur, but now that I'm getting back on track physically, it's time to revive the blog. There were many reasons why I started this journey, and many of those reasons had seen fruition with the races I had done. Maybe it was time for a new, less taxing hobby? I could be Michael's Sherpa, do smaller distance races, join a dance class, do weights. A couple of weeks ago, I was cleared to ...
