Comm101: greetings!

http://www.travelbug1979.blogspot.com/2008/08/greetings.html

Thursday, August 28, 2008. I was used to the webct system as well. blackboard has been quite a change. But it forced me to rethink how I teach my online classes and how the learning management system was to a large extent controlling how I taught (and how my students learned). So now I'm experimenting with blogging, wikis, and google groups. August 30, 2008 at 3:19 PM. I've also used WebCT, Blackboard, combination (mixed mode classes), but never blogged or used wikis! Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Week 7, Chapter 19. October 7, 2008 at 11:06 PM. Culture is definitely comprised of many factors. Even in science, culture has meaning. This was the first time I have learned about ethnography. I agree that researching other cultures through ethnography is great because it allows you to see things that another person might not even notice. I think it is very important to learn about other cultures. October 11, 2008 at 9:55 PM. Week 15 Blog # 1.

Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Week 6, Chapter 18. In the beginning of chapter 18, British sociologist Anthony Giddens "suggests that people in society are. In the sense that they are "able to act otherwise" and have the capacity "to make a difference." (p. 237). But now it seems like my nephew and neices all want video games! I agree with you, its baffling how much people in our society (especially the youth) cherish material goods. I hope that my kids will still enjoy sports, and outdoor activities (r...

http://saucysaschy.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Week 6, Chapter 17. The concept that stood out most to me from this chapter was Hirokawa and Gouran's "Four Functions of Effective Decision Making" (requisite functions). They are problem analysis, goal setting, identification of alternatives and evaluation of positive and negative consequences. I enjoyed reading about their experience of searching for the "perfect candidate". It made me think of my own experiences when it came to decision making. Thursday, September 25, 2008.

We went for a drive on a mission to find moose. We found some on the 3rd and more on our way down to Huntsville on the 4th. Beaver dam. (they were everywhere). Mom trying out the new swing. The Life of a Travel Bug | Michelle & Rod's adventures around the world

The Life of a Travel Bug. Michelle and Rod's adventures around the world. Over the weekend we finally moved back into our home, it is so good to be here, still getting used to it being so quiet. Used to the hustle and bustle of a busy street, trams, taxis, fire engines zooming past. Don’t get me wrong I am going to love the peace and quiet here, just then heard the birds chirping, nice! Now that’s a hard one coming from a librarian! Hopefully they will be cheaper too! The rest of the flight was ok; we ha...
