Songs to generate a thirst. The Strings were well received at the 2014 , 2015 and 2016 Westhoughton GC Beer Festival. The 2017 event is planned for 8th September - dont miss it! Helping the Local Community. The Strings are always happy to support local good causes in addition to national charities. Back in March 2015 we took part in a night entertainment to help friends and family of Tyler Brewin. Tyler is a smart boy, who suffers. From epileptic encephalopathy and cannot get the needed equipment from NHS.

We are an Acoustic Guitar Group. Of a wide range of songs. Our set of songs dates. From the 50’s up to the present day,. Covering pop and country music numbers. Combined with folk and traditional songs. Our group currently consists of 10 male and female members. We came together in 2013, emerging from a Guitar Music Club started by Group Leader Steve Liptrot as initially somewhere for aspiring guitar players to come together to play and practice. The Alzheimer’s Society is the charity closest to the heart of the group. However, we support also other good causes by being part of the entertainment on fundraising nights. Could Travellin Strings be at your service? C HRISTMAS MORNING CHEER. For the last three years we have played the role of strolling players bringing Christmas Morning Cheer to the patients at Bolton Hospital. THE ALZHEIMER´S SOCIETY. We have helped and supported our group member, Chris Ward. The Alzheimer’s Society.

Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Review: Water for Elephants. The movie is shot beautifully, giving a real sense of the Big Top and the time. The actors are great with Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon pulling out all stops.
