These pictures were pretty much snapped out the car window during a mad dash south from Provence to Rome. As such, they are a mish-mash of things that caught my fleeting fancy. Link to Wikipedia information on Vienna. The trip to Belgium was a one day affair using a train ride through the Chunnel. It rained the entire day. We consoled ourselves with an extended tour of a bumper crop of chocolatiers. On the way back to London we managed to go through about a kilo of the stuff. Remarkably, we didn't barf. In 1959 this was a dash through the south-east part of France. On the agenda was Avignon with the Palais de Papes, residency of seven Popes 1309-1377. These guys and the Roman version claimed to be the one and only. Another agenda item was Arles, home of Van Gogh.
