Travels of Jim

Saturday, June 7, 2014. Team OZ - The adventures of Sarah Zawistowski and Jim Ott. Thursday, March 10, 2011. Update on the Last 20 Months. Yeah, I know. It has been a very very long time since my last post. I pretty much gave up on the blog a long time ago. At least I am here now and once again posting. We'll see if it lasts this time. Ok, back to where I last left off. Yes, that's right - I got to touch and to hold baby penguins! Here are a couple pictures from the day. I did say it was smelly! Another ...

Travels of Jim: July 2009

http://www.travelsofjim.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 19, 2009. Another Brithday - now 32. Another thing about the hear and now and being 32 is I realize I'm not totally fulfilled yet with my life. Maybe I never will be totally fulfilled. All I know is that there is still some things missing. I love being able to travel and go to the ice and will continue to do so while figuring out those few things missing. Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Ecuador and the Galapagos. It´s such a nce feeling to be out in the world again. The time I spent at home was great but seeing new places and experiencing some amazing moments is what inspired me in the first place to leave home. So far Ecuador and a trip to the Galapagos has been fantasic! Here are a few pictures from the first two weeks of traveling. The Giant Tortoises of the Galapagos. Amazing animals that can live up to 160 years. Wish I could bring one home.

Travels of Jim: February 2008

http://www.travelsofjim.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 23, 2008. After a two day delay we made it to Christchurch. Sweet as! It is awesome to be off the ice and seeing green, the night sky, drinking draft beer (and for that matter beer that isn't over a year old), and eating food that isn't mass produced. I think at one point on the ice there was some kind of pork dish as the main dish for 14 straight days. Sunday, February 17, 2008. Some updates on things that have happened over the last month. http://www.travelsofjim.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Thursday, January 3, 2008. New Year and a New Gal! My latest post brings wonderful news. After talking to my good friend Matt Levison, I realized that my standards were too high, and I was missing out on the opportunity for love. With that in mind, I broadened my horizons and just this week I meet a wonderful woman namd Gertrude Schmidt. Gerty and I enjoying the "Ice". This post was obviously a joke, but we miss you Jim! Southern McLovin: March 2012

http://southernmclovin.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 16, 2012. Abby had a great Halloween party at her school and I was lucky enough to be the parent helper. I found these adorable oranges that you carve like pumpkins and fill with fruit on the family fun website. They were a big hit! We have been outside every opportunity we get. This fall has been pretty rainy in Ohio, but being back reminds me of falls growing up in Ohio. The leaves are so beautiful and the air so crisp. I love sharing this with my kids. Something of note recently came to my attention. Of all the fascinating people in Antarctica, Joe, who I met last year on The Ice, is back again this year as a shuttle driver. He is also celebrating his 80th birthday! My friend, Kris, wrote a nice post about him. Happy Birthday, Joe! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The first of many changes: For Valentine's Day (and my brother, Matt's birthday), my sister, Sara, who is visiting, and I took a little trip out this morning and donated my hair to Locks of Love. I needed a cut and although, I love my long hair, I am glad a child with cancer will get a wig with some of my locks! I love the haircut!

Jakartass Travels | 1971 – ?

A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. 8211; Macbeth Act V, Scene 5. I’ve travelled for most of my life and generally kept a diary. This blog is intended as an online archive of those handwritten scrawls. In putting it together, I realise that it has been a generally curious, occasionally idiotic and angry, yet rarely boring journey through life. They tried to persuade me not to cross. The curious hills; finally shrugging. Called me foolish, stubborn. Where my pig is headed.

Travels of Jill

Friday, November 15, 2013. I would like to keep a better record of life. I'm not a writer, nor am I a photographer. I am, however, somewhat of a perfectionist, which keeps me from writing or taking pictures because I won't be good at it. There's my confession and hopefully I can leave that at the door and just record life for myself and our family. On 5 years of marriage: How have we already been married for almost 5 1/2 years? Here's to better record keeping in the years to come! Monday, August 29, 2011.
