Stories from a year of travel with a dog named Andy. Back in action. In Korea. This adorable pup is Andy the Dog on the day that he was saved (by me. You’re welcome) from the death grip of the Birmingham Humane Society. Because this blog bears his name it only seems appropriate to have one of the first posts be about him. Also, I don’t really have anything to do at work today so I have time to write something else. John Steinbeck, Travels With Charley. Here’s the deal. If you get the reference, good....

Stories from a year of travel with a dog named Andy. Born to be Wild. This afternoon the boys went to one of the provinces outside of the city and I was left to my own devices for a few hours, getting some alone time for the first time since I arrived two weeks ago. Of course, I immediately got on the moto and took off. Cambodia, you will always have a little piece of my heart. And after today, you have a little piece of my knees and elbows too. Hospitals, Police, and Floods. Oh My. →. I love your blog!

Stories from a year of travel with a dog named Andy. Hospitals, Police, and Floods. Oh My. I apologize for taking so long to write again. It’s not my fault, It’s just been very busy over here. To make up for it, I’m going blog about three different things in ONE post, a trifecta of fun. Last, but not least,. 8221;s and ending with even more excited “Awwww! 8221;s and cheers as the car or moto eventually succumbed and had to be pushed back to safety. Also, amidst this excitement, I saw three white mor...

http://thefareastnowcloser.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 31, 2012. The world is a book. I'm pretty positive i got my "wanderlust" (my strong, innate desire to rove and travel about) from my mom. at a young age, my mom and dad were taking me and my sister places to see and do and experience. Of course, coming to asia was the will of the Father, but i still have to give credit to my mom who taught me that there is much more to this world and God's creation than little ole atlanta, georgia. The "old town" in my city. A river boat cruise. After our...

Friday, November 30, 2012. Your leaving month.". When may turned to june, "lasts" started happening and life became more bittersweet. one of my closest student friends said, "i don't want it to be june. june is your leaving month." those were hard words to hear. but, gosh, did we have fun! Here are some of the things we did:. Kelsey and i went along with the summer auburn group to one of our favorite cities. i really enjoyed being with these college students and getting to know them more! About a week be...

Over the may national holiday, kelsey and i got to travel to another city with a student friend to celebrate the wedding of two of her closest friends! It was such an honor to be a part of this special day. We celebrated cinco de mayo with our american friends in the city. Mexican food, mustaches, and all! We threw a j...

Sunday, December 18, 2011. Word of the week: fei zhu liu kelsey's birthday. This week's word of the week is fei zhu liu. As in tina fey. Which is a slang term used mostly by the post-90s generation. in general, it means something that is strange and odd. Not necessarily in a bad way - just different from the norm. My friends love using this term, and if i throw it into any conversation, the crowd goes wild! Zhu ni shengri, kelsey! Friday, December 9, 2011. A little turkey and a little traveling. The day ...

Wednesday, November 28, 2012. A is for april.and these other things! Our friend, will, works in another city over here - and he came to visit us for easter! So happy to have him! Our crew got to "get away" to another part of the city for a weekend of bonding over yummy food (i.e. papa john's), affirmation time, and bowling! Playing tennis with these friends was a fun afternoon, especially with all their hilarious exclamatory phrases - aya! Though they were a handful, we loved their company!

the far east. now closer.: this world matters.

http://thefareastnowcloser.blogspot.com/2012/05/this-world-matters.html

Thursday, May 3, 2012. The message of the resurrection is that this world matters. That the injustices and pains of this present world must now be addressed with the news that healing, justice, and love have won. If Easter means Jesus Christ is only raised in a spiritual sense - then it is only about me, and finding a new dimension in my personal spiritual life. but if Jesus Christ is truly risen from the dead, christianity becomes good news for the whole world. Happy easter from the orient!

Friday, July 8, 2011. Zai jian, y'all! You better believe i thoroughly documented our last day in country. it was like any ordinary day, but it wasn't because it was the last one. you know? The last time owen would come downstairs to eat breakfast. the last time i would be eating lunch with nolan commenting how good the food was. the last time the girls would climb into a three-wheeler together. so, i was armed with my camera all day, and not ashamed in the least bit. Travels with Angel | Angel's Adventures

From Winter to Summer. July 15, 2015. In April we once again traveled the Alaska-Canadian Highway. Two vehicles, 2 people and 14 dogs. Getting to Colorado took eight long days of driving over 3000 miles (4000 km). The trip was so long, it practically became a lifestyle: wake-up, drive, stop to eat, drive, sleep and repeat! When we left Alaska, there was still snow and ice on the ground. In Canada we drove into spring and then back into winter when we hit the mountains of Wyoming. The first dog house.
