Sherry's Garden: September 2014
http://sherrysgarden.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 26, 2014. We are now officially some of "those" people. You know the ones I am talking about. Religious. Patriotic. Son is in the military. Conservative. Believe in family and God.Gun owners. And I must say that I am proud to be an American. I only hope that we can hold onto the freedoms we have left, and take back some that have been lost before it's too late. Out trip to Texas was also totally awesome because we got to see a few of our children and grandchildren. It was so great!

Sherry's Garden: May 2015
http://sherrysgarden.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 10, 2015. I spy . . . . and it's Mother's Day! After a LOT of work and sore muscles, the garden is looking good and about 95% planted. Wow I feel like we have accomplished a great deal. Now we can rest. NOT! That's okay. The hardest work is done - for a while. Here are some pictures to update the garden. I spy . . . . A Meyer Lemon tree in a pot on the deck. Blossoms on the blackberry vines! Tiny clusters of Concord grapes growing! Pears (sorry they are blurry). And a lovely pear tree. Darrel...

Sherry's Garden: June 2015
http://sherrysgarden.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 25, 2015. What if . . . . We have had so much rain the last two weeks, that I started to ask myself "What if . . .". What if we had to evacuate our home because of flooding, or a tornado, or an earthquake, or anything else you can think of, what would we take and how long would it take to get everything together and leave. I found a very good blog and website addressing just those questions. The two sources I really appreciate are:. Lots of questions to consider. Thing to grab in an emerge...

Sherry's Garden: June 2014
http://sherrysgarden.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 22, 2014. Summer is officially here but I think the weather was not notified that Summer didn't really begin until yesterday. It has been very hot and extremely humid the last week. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. I really love summer time, just not the humidity so much, but knowing that another season will take it's place in a few months gives me reason to enjoy and anticipate fall. I think they miss their friend Reba. I do. Cheeto found a new spot to nap this week. Here are...

Sherry's Garden: July 2014
http://sherrysgarden.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 21, 2014. It's only Monday . . . . What a way to start the week! The mice are back! This morning Darrel found mouse #2, dead in the old fashioned trap he laced with peanut butter and Cheezits. He also filled in, with concrete, the hole that was in the front porch. Darrel thinks that may be where the mice are getting into the house. They are always in the storeroom. The cats have not been able to get them, but the traps have been working. The question is, how many more mice are down there?

Saturday, February 28, 2015. We got eight new chicks today. We have two Black Australorp, one Barred Rock, one Light Brahma, two White Leghorn, and two Isa Brown pullets. Too cute! We got our chicks at Rural King this morning. The light colored chicks are two and three days old and the black ones are a week plus a couple of days old. Here are our adorable babies! This is Hazel, another very vocal chick, she is an Isa Brown chick. She will lay large brown eggs at about 16-18 weeks. Her companion I...Here ...

Sherry's Garden: December 2014
http://sherrysgarden.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Christmas and the end of 2014. It's hard to believe that Christmas has already come and gone and the year 2014 is at an end. Why does the time seem to fly so fast these days? We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Hilary and Emmanuel, Hannah, Travis, and Olivia were here with Darrel, Leah and I. I love it when we get to have at least a few of our children and/or grandchildren with us for the holidays! We did get a few pictures of Christmas morning. This house is on the othe...

Sherry's Garden: November 2014
http://sherrysgarden.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 17, 2014. The first snow of the season arrived Saturday afternoon, took a break during the night and started again Sunday morning. It snowed for most of the day. It was dry and powdery, not good for making snowmen. It looks pretty though. Today it is very cold again. Brrrr! This is what it looked like before we went to church. Millie actually likes playing in the snow - for a few minutes anyway. There were a LOT of boxes. So nice and tidy. Yay! Costume problem solved. The Christmas c...

Sherry's Garden: Peaches!!!
http://sherrysgarden.blogspot.com/2015/07/peaches.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. We got some peaches! Darrel rescued what was left on one of the trees by covering the whole tree in bird netting and placing a squirrel baffle around the trunk. The squirrels (and a few birds) ate all the peaches on one tree before they were even ripe. I was not happy! Our neighbors have had the same problem - trees stripped of fruit. Who knew that squirrels had a thing for peaches? We are having peach-blackberry crisp for dessert tonight! A blog post would not be complete witho...

Sherry's Garden: April 2015
http://sherrysgarden.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 26, 2015. What a week . . . One word describes the past week pretty well - dead. The next thing was dead ants. Yay! I was tired of them in my pantry. No sadness here for dead ants. On Friday we had to put Dottie out of her misery. She had been sick and just got worse as the week wore on. I was very sad. She was one of our best layers. I hate losing a chicken. A lot of dead things this week. It is weird to think about how a dead mouse in a trap in the house doesn't really bother me, whereas ...
