Adventures of Crazy Biker Chick: Operation Tandem
http://crazybikerchick.blogspot.com/2010/08/operation-tandem.html
Monday, August 23, 2010. After such a long blogging hiatus where to just jump in and start up again? I think I'll just jump back in with the latest bikey acquisition! Want to fly to Vancouver tomorrow? And with the special Harbour Air. Public transit schedules here leave something to be desired. There is no transit on Denman itself (though the locals will pick up thumbers! He didn't get it though, why take the bus when you can ride? While exploring Comox we stopped in at Simon's Cycles. First we decided ...

Adventures of Crazy Biker Chick: August 2004
http://crazybikerchick.blogspot.com/2004_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 25, 2004. Swedish for Difficult Steering. My main objection to IKEA. We wanted to have a fun time, get some exercise, and enjoy the scenery as well as the actual shopping expedition. We set off along the bike trail along the lakeshore after a quick detour for some sugary fuel. The tailwind was absolutely glorious! Would surely keel over on the narrow shelf. They had similar deeper shelves that could be cut to the length but they would surely be awkward to carry. Well we can't ha...I was...

Adventures of Crazy Biker Chick: February 2006
http://crazybikerchick.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 24, 2006. 10000 km of pedal power! 10,000 km (more than the distance from Toronto to Vancouver and back again) since I got the bike computer (3.5 years ago) and got addicted to cycling. Some of it for fun, but the majority of it for basic transportation needs. 275 tonnes of carbon dioxide not released into the atmosphere (based on an average cars city fuel efficiency of 11L/100 km, and 2.5 kg of C02 per L of gas burned). The view from here. Including the bus not taken. Km ridden in 2009.

Adventures of Crazy Biker Chick: State of the Traffic Union
http://crazybikerchick.blogspot.com/2008/06/state-of-traffic-union.html
Thursday, June 19, 2008. State of the Traffic Union. I'm strolling along Richmond Street and bright flashing lights distract me in the distance. As I get closer I notice a motorcycle cop has someone pulled over. The criminal? A responsible-looking helmeted cyclist. The crime? Unknown. He hands her a ticket. Maybe she was endangering the lives of those cocooned in 2-tonne steel cages by not having a ding-a-ling bell to warn them she was there since checking mirrors is becoming passé. Over at I Bike T.O.

Angsty: Now with a little less angst: Luckiest
http://needlessinput.blogspot.com/2010/10/luckiest.html
Angsty: Now with a little less angst. Average, Everyday, Sane/Psycho Super-goddess. Sunday, October 03, 2010. I often wonder how to explain to The Boy how much he has changed my life for the positive when I am such a pessimistic sort of girl. I do believe I cause him angst when I'd rather just tell him that I kind of think he is wonderful. I really am a lucky girl. It is something I can see but not something I yet know in my knower; a hard balance to find. One day I hope it is second nature. Verifier wor...

Adventures of Crazy Biker Chick: The view from the broomstick
http://crazybikerchick.blogspot.com/2008/10/view-from-broomstick.html
Friday, October 31, 2008. The view from the broomstick. Hallowe'en is always my favourite time of year to be on a bicycle. Dressed up in costume everyone around smiles, rather than the usual frazzled road moods about. Since my new recumbent looks like a giant broomstick I couldn't resist dressing up like a witch. Here I am in front of Community Bicycle Network. And believe me these are amazing if a spatially-challenged type like me can build a really good wheel (more on that later! The gals of "Critical ...

Adventures of Crazy Biker Chick: The Open Road
http://crazybikerchick.blogspot.com/2008/06/open-road.html
Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Since I'm pretty slow in getting my journal of my B.C. adventure online, I'll lead you over to Dave's funny account. Of the trip the three of us took. What you say? Didn't I mention before this was just a two person trip? Apparently I hadn't accounted for Cycling Mind. Or you can sift through my snap-happy-ness. The other night I went to a screening of the documentary The Long Road North. Any ideas for some summer adventures? After beauty like Helliwell Park on Hornby Island, or...
