Meadow Roux: April 2015
http://meadowroux.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 11, 2015. I left Roquessels today. It was very hard. Very emotional. After the usual travel drama (there seems to always be some), I was speeding along in the TGV towards Barcelona, Spain. I was listening to Spanish and French around me. I had the thought that one week ago I left Italy and it that was then Italian all around me. I started to feel excited. I'm going home. Which made me think about what that means exactly. What is home now? It isn't the physical house I'm going to. Or used ...

Meadow Roux: December 2012
http://meadowroux.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 30, 2012. Our first morning in Kirkby Lonsdale- so frosty and chilly! 24 hours later. It's a gorgeous sunny day. Perfect for a hike along the river. The weather changes quickly in these parts. Very suspicious river wardens. We were way too naive to know that this weather was rare and that it will be weeks before we even see the sun again! Sunday, December 16, 2012. We make a detour to the west to catch a glimpse of beautiful lake Windermere. This one tried to eat my mitten. Loch Lomand i...

Meadow Roux: March 2015

Monday, March 30, 2015. Safe and protected.". I'm thinking about how easily and often I get hurt by wanting or waiting or expecting someone to do something in return for me. A phone call, an email, smoke signals, just some response to one of mine that says yes, you're worthy of my time. I understand that you need an answer or confirmation of my love, or commitment, or my giving-a-shitness. But what if I can let go? Seriously let go of that need of a response of any kind. To Arles, Bandol and beyond!

Meadow Roux: January 2015
http://meadowroux.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. Leeks it's what's (usually) for dinner. Here's what I dug for dinner yesterday. Leeks are much more common here. As common as onions- or I don't know- potatoes. Are back home. I love that here everyone loves them as much as I do! I'm headed back into the vineyards to prune tomorrow. I hope it will be as sunny as yesterday. With all my layers and wool I've stayed warm enough. I think we'll finish the grenache vines and perhaps we'll finish the viognier as well. Last weekend was...

Meadow Roux: January 2013

Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Mora na maidine dhuit (top o' the morning to you). Sunrise on Sheep's head peninsula. Oh, the treasures I found! Driving here is an adventure! Suddenly we were not alone. Thursday, January 10, 2013. Irish eyes are smiling. We flew into Cork, Ireland today. We enjoyed our first beautiful sunny day in almost a month. After a lunch of the freshest crab-off the boat only a few hours earlier-we headed to the beach. A bit chilly but GORGEOUS! We found a lovely B&B with a great view.

Meadow Roux: November 2012
http://meadowroux.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 30, 2012. Last glimpses of Dixter. Clematis 'pagoda' hanging in there and so incredibly beautiful. The window in the larder-not sure why we don't all have one of these( a larder that is or a leaded window looking in). Maggie and me on our Sunday walk, following(for the most part) the Sussex border path. Everywhere I turn there are more achingly beautiful views. The beautiful old church we found in Beckley. These are the wonderful little step over stiles found all along the footpaths.

Meadow Roux: Oh Madonna Mia...
http://meadowroux.blogspot.com/2015/04/oh-madonna-mia.html
Friday, April 3, 2015. I feel that I must put some of this down lest I forget it, but the sun is rising over the Italian Riviera and it's calling me so I'll be brief. When I spoke of my hesitation to head north into Piedmont and then on to the french alps my hosts Elizabeth and Pierre immediately concurred and directed me into the hillside north of here for a day trip. I am, after all, running away from snowy mountains this year. I then headed on towards Islobola. I had this tender sprout of a thought.
