tales from the outhouse: July 2015
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Friday, July 31, 2015. While we were visiting in Virginia Beach, my mom and cousin Stephanie threw Aunt Jill a retirement party. Jill was a fourth grade teacher, so you can imagine how excited she is to be out of the classroom and home free! Stephanie put together an incredible party, with a turquoise nautical theme. My cousins, all together in the same room with me, in what feels like forever! Monday, July 27, 2015. To the beach we go.

tales from the outhouse: September 2014
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. We had planned to spend Sunday afternoon at the aviary on a family outing, but Barrett's poor infected ears had other plans. So we left Barrett at home with the hubs to nap, and Britton and I set off on our adventure. I had heard great things about the National Aviary, which is America's only independent indoor nonprofit zoo dedicated to birds. And it happens to be right in Pittsburgh! A couple walked up to...

tales from the outhouse: barrett: 27 months old
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2015/08/barrett-27-months-old.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Sunday, August 9, 2015. Barrett: 27 months old. Bad mommy here. Yes, the sign says "August 7th," but truthfully I didn't remember about Barrett's monthly picture until last night. I guess I was so distracted by work and Britton's party that it completely slipped my mind. But, I guarantee you that Barrett went through no major changes since August 7th, so the picture and today's info still ring true. First tomato out of the garden!

tales from the outhouse: May 2015
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Saturday, May 30, 2015. Yes, it's time for swimming lessons again! Britton is in level 3 this summer, so by the end of class she should be swimming all by herself, with no flotation devices. Barrett knew something was up when I started covering him and Britton with sunscreen, and he had no intention of not being invited to the pool. Poor Barrett - his swimming lessons don't start for another month! Is it all rubbed in, Mommy? Well, it'...

tales from the outhouse: the baby max quilt
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-baby-max-quilt.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Saturday, August 1, 2015. The baby max quilt. The hubs' cousin Kristin is having her first baby soon, and I've kept up with the updates via Facebook. She and her husband live in Edmond, OK, our old stomping ground, and as much as I would have liked to attend her baby shower, it's too far. So instead, I made her a quilt! Turned out to be absolutely adorable! And hopefully baby Max will love it too! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

tales from the outhouse: flipping for britton's birthday party
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2015/08/flipping-for-brittons-birthday-party.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Flipping for britton's birthday party. The kids started out in the main gym, going through the trampoline, the vault, balance beams, and the climbing wall. Then they moved over to the other side, where they crossed parallel bars, crawled under forms, swung on a rope, and landed in a ball pit! The venue didn't offer a chance to drown the party in a theme, so we went with the cake, invitations, and paper product...

tales from the outhouse: June 2015
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Sunday, June 28, 2015. A camping we will go. The hubs and I wanted a little getaway for a few days, but when we started looking at hotel room prices, we were less than enthused. Seriously, even at $150 a night the bill would be offensive! Well, luckily, Memaw and PawPaw have a travel trailer, and were not only willing to watch the kids, but let us borrow the trailer! Britton is loving those Trix. Oh, Pei Wei, how I have missed you so.

tales from the outhouse: August 2015
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Wednesday, August 26, 2015. First day of first grade! Britton started first grade today, at an elementary school! Last year Britton attended kindergarten at the daycare, so it was really just an extension of what she was used to. This year, it got real! Britton wore her new back pack with pride! Monday, August 24, 2015. After two nights in a row of sleeping for over nine uninterrupted hours (seriously, I don't want jewelry, I don't wan...

tales from the outhouse: October 2014
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Friday, October 31, 2014. We started our Halloween festivities yesterday, when Britton and Barrett's daycare had their Halloween parade. The parade is at the end of the day, so we went with costumes that could be comfortable. Barrett was a cowboy! This might be the easiest costume ever. I made his vest out of fleece, and we already had the jean shirt, jeans, and bandana. Then I ordered a cowboy hat. Then Britton's class came out! It wa...

tales from the outhouse: April 2015
http://talesfromtheouthouse.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tales from the outhouse. Living in the middle (literally) of america. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Take your kids to work day. Britton has been asking to see my office again, since, according to her, she can't remember what it looks like. Honestly, it's a cube farm and not all that impressive to see, but I didn't tell her that! I figured it would be no problem to bring them to work last Friday morning, since the office is ghost town on Fridays. I was right - my department had two people there! Better yet, ...
