My greater Yes | Trusting the Wind
https://trustingthewind.org/2015/01/23/my-greater-yes
Will you trust the Wind? Be brave →. There is always a greater “yes” when it comes to my choice in obedience. There have been moments and times where obeying has been easy….most of the time it has not. But what I have come to know in my relationship with God is that when He is asking me to lay something down, there is ALWAYS something better waiting for me. When I was younger there was a greater yes when I decided to give my son up for adoption, the greater yes was his quality of life. My deepest desire ...
Be brave | Trusting the Wind
https://trustingthewind.org/2015/01/25/be-brave
Will you trust the Wind? I am 35 going on 13 →. Brave women are my heroes. They inspire me and spur me on to become more of who I was created to be. There are many brave women in this world and twice as many who are on the cusp of bravery. It takes large amounts of bravery and courage to flow in this river. But it’s easier when the river is full of other brave women standing together and with every act of kindness and lifting up of another human being the links in the chain grow stronger. They speak LIFE...
Labor and Delivery…Life and Death | Trusting the Wind
https://trustingthewind.org/2016/03/08/labor-and-delivery-life-and-death
Will you trust the Wind? Some rooms are full and some are empty →. Labor and Delivery…Life and Death. I have died many times so far in my life. I die to myself everyday. I dig up my old dead self and try to make it presentable, but no matter how you dress it up, it, me, my old self is dead. Dying is a part of living. I labored for a week before I walked into the hospital. My labor was violent prayer, then it was weeping and yelling and crying out. My labor was asking you to labor with me! And so did you.
Where all of me is held | Trusting the Wind
https://trustingthewind.org/2016/07/27/where-all-of-me-is-held
Will you trust the Wind? Good night sweet friends →. Where all of me is held. I spent 8 years praying for my daughter. Eight. That is a lot of years. That’s almost 3000 days of prayers for one thing…for her. And miscarried, and then had to miscarry again. Months before my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer and my marriage was not in a bright spot. I was sad and tired and angry and like a little child I turned to God and said, no I’m sorry, I yelled, “YOU SAID YOU WOULD GIVE ME A DAUGHTER! I entered i...

https://trustingthewind.org/2015/02/08/i-am-35-going-on-13
Will you trust the Wind? The Reality of Marriage →. I am 35 going on 13. My self-awareness and narcissism are both at an all-time high and I am fearing that my constant hormonal imbalance is going to affect the way my womb baby is developing. I know this is a lie but it feels like everyone else is comfortable with who they are, and right now I am just not. Check it out) where I am anonymous all while being a part of something larger than myself is totally a sweet spot for me. Being with my husband is...

The Legacy of the Cornbread Skillet: Shepherdess Day 4!
http://www.thecornbreadskilletlegacy.com/2014/05/shepherdess-day-4.html
Monday, May 12, 2014. Lots of fence work to be done today. We've had rain showers on and off, and so far I think the sheep liking being in the barn, but I think they are ready to get out to pasture! We got it done and they were more than happy to head out to pasture. We even brought Bub down and introduced them to their very own body guard. I didn't grab a picture. I was too busy watching him. He was giddy! Anyway. Day 4- success! Monday, May 12, 2014. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Its been a while.
The Legacy of the Cornbread Skillet: More fun around the farm!
http://www.thecornbreadskilletlegacy.com/2014/06/more-fun-around-farm.html
Friday, June 6, 2014. More fun around the farm! It's been an exciting few days around here! We are taking part in a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) with our eggs, and quickly realized we needed our baby chickens to start laying to meet demand. This obviously can't be forced, so I started searching craigslist for laying hens. After a couple dead ends, I found my chicken man! Some of our new chickens lay white eggs! Oh, 17 year old Sb. if you could see your future. Could be fox or any other hos...
The Legacy of the Cornbread Skillet: May 2013

Tuesday, May 14, 2013. I've used essential oils aromatically for years. Nothing smells quite as good as peppermint essential oil in my opinion. Why do we love the scent of clothes out of the dryer? Because the softner tries to recreate the lovely smell of clothes on the line (ie: "outdoor fresh, "summer sunshine" "sprintime breeze"). Why do we love candles and the ambience they bring? Thing scratch and sniff marketing! But some of these chemically processed scents are actually hurting our health. I'm now...

Tuesday, June 11, 2013. A home for Bub. Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Friday, June 7, 2013. We are busy making changes around the farm. I apologize (yet again) for this blog becoming so sporadic. but as I have told a few people, we're just too busy with life to record all of it! We got our garden planted- we're trying to expand this year to greens, lettuces, and spinaches. What we don't eat, the turkeys and chickens will love! We're expanding our chicken coop! The husband is building his dog house today! A hom...
The Legacy of the Cornbread Skillet: Shepherdess Day 2!
http://www.thecornbreadskilletlegacy.com/2014/05/shepherdess-day-2.html
Saturday, May 10, 2014. Made some progress today with the sheep. They are still so timid- this is all so new to them. Try as I might- I am not Cathy- their previous mama. So far, Dr. Phil, the oldest ram, has the most courage. He eats out of my hand first each time. He's almost letting me pet him while I feed him. He's very spry and quick for being 8! I was lucky enough to have my mom in for the weekend, she snapped a couple photos while I fed. Saturday, May 10, 2014. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Hiding, Biking, and Dying | BrownerBlue

What would you risk to get well? Hiding, Biking, and Dying. Most of what you encounter when you meet a man is a facade, an elaborate fig leaf, a brilliant disguise . (John Eldredge Wild at Heart). Who I really am. 8230; what I’m really like. 8230; the things I’m truly afraid of. 8230; what I really want. 8230; the things I’m most ashamed of. It starts simply with this – I love mountain biking. Everything about it appeals to me – the dirt, the sweat, the adventure, the gear, being in the w...I’m good at it.

What would you risk to get well? Monthly Archives: July 2013. I don’t know if it’s how I was raised or a result of my training as an engineer, but I know how to throw a wet blanket on just about anything. I think it’s a sort of caution that is bred uniquely in the midwest. We don’t like to let ourselves get too excited about an idea. Meanwhile you feel the weight of my judgement and lack of imagination. Okay, I’m being a little hard on myself. That’s who I use to be. What I’m learning as I risk looking a...

trusting the muse | & other heresies
August 2, 2015. By trusting the muse. Why do so few fiction-writing handbooks even mention tense, let alone treat it in depth? One exception is Samuel R Delany’s. 2005) An expert on technique, he talks tense to an interviewer. ‘The simple present has only a single, distanced tone’ in his opinion. But ditto, past tense used by those asleep to its scope. And why not use both? 1996) is so inventive, who cares about tense switches? Yet, compare its first and last sentences:. 2000) is one of its least radical...

Twelve Weddings
My summer journal as an Evolution Events intern. Saturday, April 24, 2010. I know it sounds cliche but it seriously feels like my freshman year of college just began yesterday. I thought my high school years went fast, but it moved at a turtle's pace compared to how fast college goes. Seriously, I only posted 6 times on here- that's how fast it flew by! I'm going to post a few pictures from the past year which kind of outlines different things I've gotten to do since being here. Giraffe at Como Zoo.

Trusting the Wind | Will you trust the Wind?
Will you trust the Wind? Not mother of the year. My daughter likes to play this game in the car. It goes like this…. Pepper: Mom do you want to play a game. Me: sure, what do you want to play? To call this a “game” is sort of lame. It’s basically naming cars, like, “there is a blue truck,” or “motorcycle.” When Pepper plays she just yells out cars that she sees followed by a very loud and very excited, “I Win! For 30 of the last 48 months I have been pregnant….and still counting. The persis...This is exa...

TRUSTING THROUGH THE TRANSITION
Watch Gary’s 100 Huntley Street Interview. This Transition period (like you hear of with 2012) may very likely be extremely challenging with unprecedented radical change like we have never experienced before. Many will call it a ‘CRISIS’! Remember the ancient Oriental saying ; ‘CRISIS’ = Danger Opportunity. The Danger will be obvious, the Opportunity is to be ready and to Accelerate through the chaos and suffering to Divine Peace and Provision . Fundamentally we do this by Choosing FAITH over fear! Be in...
