Monday, July 23, 2007. For my International project, my group's theme would be "human interaction". We will decide two routs, door to door, and transpotation would be either of train, bus, walk, taxi, car. Taxi works in Rome but it is not option for me because it's very expensive in Japan, as everyone knows. So I will do bus and walk. I wanted to do on train, but it will be not working since I use subway. During I trace my way with GPS, I would take pictures and video recording, and observation.

Thursday, 31 May 2007. Rules We Learn to Follow. We talked in class about the social standards that we adjust to when we move to a new place. Like how in Tokyo it’s inappropriate to walk while you eat. There are customs and rules that we have to learn when we’re trying to assimilate into a new culture. Wednesday, 30 May 2007. We've mentioned a few times in class that there are rules that everyone's following in Japan and I've really been noticing many people and their behaviors, especially the people who are not following the "rules". Camera- - to save memory of everyday life. Electronic dictionary- - to look up words that I didn't understand. Pouch- to put cosmetics that I use. Towel- - to use after I wash my hands. Cardigan- to wear in the room when I'm cold with air conditioner. I pod- - to listen to music while I'm on a train between home to school.

Thursday, 21 June 2007. My international project group mentioned the topic of activities that can be accomplished on the train, which is kind of interesting. I don't know that many of the Tokyo people on trains get a whole lot finished in that time, but there surely are many things going on in that time. There are a lot of sleepy people on the trains. They seem to ride the trains just to sleep. It always makes me feel uncomfortable when the person next to me sleeps and I never sleep on the train.
