For the July 4th weekend my husband and I decided to take our daughter strawberry picking at a farm in Arlington. Picking strawberries is actually hard work! My daughter and I got tired easily but my husband was so excited he was out of control. Soon we had assembly line. My husband would pick the berry, I would hand them to our daughter, and she would put them in the container. Here's the catch of the day.

Sam spent the Jubilee bank holiday with his dad which left me free to avoid all red-white-and-blue festivities, yay. Instead I saw a friend on Sunday, went to Skegness on Monday, out for dinner Monday night, shift on Tuesday and then ice cream in the Bail (don't tell Sam! Then lunch, after which we went to Bolingbroke Castle for a game of hide and seek.

Looking back at 2015 I realize it was a big year for personal changes – most particularly a shift in where I spent my money. Early in the year I decided to reduce my consumption by creating a small, well crafted wardrobe of quality basics. Then this summer I watched The True Cost.
