Things you learned as a kid #2 | TwigBits

https://twigbits.wordpress.com/2015/08/15/things-you-learned-as-a-kid-2

Things you learned as a kid #2. August 15, 2015. You’ve probably learned these phrases, or equivalent in your language:. 8220;You throw like a girl”. 8220;Crying like a girl” *. 8220;Grow a pair and just do it”. 8220;You’ve got some balls …”. 8220;Man up” *. 8221;, but it doesn’t negate how they’re meant. When you say “Oh grow a pair” to a person of any gender, you inherently aren’t just saying “be more confident, get over yourself and #justdoit”, you are always saying &#822...For reminding me of these.

Shit people say to get banned #2 | TwigBits

https://twigbits.wordpress.com/2015/05/08/shit-people-say-to-get-banned

Shit people say to get banned #2. May 8, 2015. Permabans are not given out lightly in BaseTradeTV. We make mistakes like any other, but usually bans are a result of multiple occasions of breaking the rules, which can be read on the twitch page. To illustrate the kind of bans that were categorized in my previous post under “General assholery or all of the above”. The sentences are shortened and spelling errors are fixed to anonymize the messages. You guys are some thirsty motherfuckers. Gay, so fucking gay.

Mostly normal | TwigBits

https://twigbits.wordpress.com/2015/05/06/mostly-normal

May 6, 2015. TLDR: I’m kinda non-binary pan. I don’t want to pretend I’m anything beyond the description “mostly straight cis male”. But even if you’re comfortable with yourself, life always throws something at you where you’d really appreciate a proper label to use in some cases. No matter how badly you want to resist, there are way-way-way too many examples of binary cis hetero-normativity in life to keep you comfortable if you can’t relate to that. I may not be able to say I’m gay or bi or pan. I don&...

Life in a tunnel. July 30, 2016. Human beings often get stuck in tunnels. It’s pretty natural and nothing to be ashamed of. It just happens. You either constructed the tunnel yourself, or maybe the people you’re with constructed it, maybe the people on TV constructed parts of it. One person might decide that getting angry and violent at a seemingly gay couple holding hands. Is an appropriate reaction to people not abiding the rules of the tunnel. The other might decide a violent massacre. It’s extr...

Twigleaf's Crossed Wires. Number prediction through layered addition. February 9, 2016. While trying to come up with simple ways to do pattern recognition and prediction, I figured that I might as well start at the very basic concept of the fact that multiplication of natural numbers are the equivalent of adding the same number multiple times. So when you say 3 * 5, you’re also saying 5 5 5. Since these numbers have a linear relation to their predecessors, a really simple way to program a prediction for ...

Twigleaf's Crossed Wires. Monthly Archives: April 2015. April 7, 2015. Disclaimer: post is not grammar/spell-checked. not going to either, forgive me. What are global states. A global state is something that is globally influenced, describing the state in which your application resides. But a global state is not necessarily a globally scoped entity in your code, nor is it necessarily something you conscientiously use as a state of what your application is currently doing. Why are they bad. Using a class ...

Twigleaf's Crossed Wires. UnitTesting: Just do it. April 5, 2012. Really any subject applies to the phrase, if you really want to get anywhere just do it – fail, succeed, it’s all part of the process. No book or detailed wiki pages are going to prepare you for unit testing your own projects, because every project is unique. Not necessarily in concept, but it will be unique to your way of development and setup of the project. Unit-tests is better than writing none. Tips to get you starting:. Yes, that&#82...

Twigleaf's Crossed Wires. Monthly Archives: June 2014. Sometimes compilers are silly – Delphi. June 18, 2014. However, there will be instances where you’re just asking for what’s in theory something very rudimentary and the compiler will just go overboard because you –. 8211; do something complicated with the same types and instructions. This isn’t very new, but I noticed that if you need to refresh ip without wanting or able to call ipconfig /flushdns, you can still refresh the ip’s for the given hostname. Twigleaf's Crossed Wires. July 19, 2009. If you want to connect visual components like grids or editboxes to a dataset, you’d expect things to be a bit straightforward, like for example:. DBGrid - DataSource - SQLQuery - DBConnection. If you’re like me, you’d probably just put a StringGrid on your form and loop over the SQLQuery to show all the data. That does however take a lot more writing code for something that. Be quite easy to do. This entry was posted in /roll. Short: Happy undocumented quirks.
